Wonder what this means for the immediate future of Blue Origin.

QuoteBlue Origin has lost 17 key senior engineers and leaders since Jeff Bezos flew to space last month. He has lost top talent since he came back to Earth.

Many of the engineers resigned just weeks after the billionaire's spaceflight. Others have updated their LinkedIn pages over the past weeks.
Blue Origin Engineers Resigned

According to CNBC, the departures include New Shepard senior vice president Steve Bennet, national security sales director Scott Jacobs, chief of mission assurance Jess Ashby, New Glenn senior director Bob Ess, New Gless senior finance manager Bill Scammell and New Glenn first stage senior director Tod Byguist.

It also included senior manager of production testing Christopher Payne, senior propulsion design engineer Dave Sanderson, New Shepard technical project manager Nate Chapman, senior HLS human factors engineer Rachel Forman, and New Shepard lead avionics software engineer Huong Vo.

QuoteMost of the Blue Origin engineers transferred to SpaceX.

I find it hard to believe that Dr. Evil didn't make them sign some kind of ridiculous non-compete. I wonder if they lawyered up and are not worried about it.

I wondered about that but haven't seen anything about a non compete.

Non Compete agreements for those level employees are basically un-enforcable.

QuoteThose who announced they were leaving Blue Origin did not specify why, but frustration with executive management and a slow, bureaucratic structure is often cited in employee reviews on job site Glassdoor.

Welcome to the world of manned flight and manned spaceflight. Apparently they didn't cover that in school or they were busy practicing for the World Beer Pong Championships that day.

So was it the Hubris of Dr. Evil 'thanking' amazon employees and customers for paying for the flight, or the hubris of trying to sue his way into a gov't contract?

Blue Origin seems to be a dead man walking.

QuoteCapitalism is all about fairly distributing wealth based on hard work and personal merit, which is why Jeff Bezos earns in 20 seconds what the median US worker makes in a year. He's just that much better than you!

He wasn't always worth that much money. Not even close. He's entitled to make whatever he chooses to make. The fact he earns more in 20 seconds than most people make in a year is irrelevant. The fact he makes that much doesn't mean I can't make that much if I came up with the right idea.

No other economic system in place on the planet is responsible for lifting more people out of poverty than capitalism. It's not a perfect system but it is hands down, by far the best system devised so far. Communism = FAIL. Socialism = FAIL. "Democratic" Socialism WILL degenerate into Communism or Socialism.

NOTHING stops any of us from becoming the next Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Donald Trump, etc... Nothing. So Trump started with @25,000,000. So what. He turned it into $6,000,000,000.  Or, he turned $1.00 into $240. And there isn't one damn thing preventing ANY of us from turning $1.00 into $240 except ourselves. The only difference is scale.

So get on those ideas peeps. Become the next Billionaire... unless we don't have what it takes to turn $1.00 into $240.00. In which case, that's ALL ON US, not the other rich guys.

"The fact he earns more in 20 seconds than most people make in a year is irrelevant."

And in reality, Jeff Bezos makes like 100k/year. The rest is Amazon bucks.

It's jealousy, plain and simple. Good for him IMO! I'm just jealous I'm not related to him, maybe I would get a free Prime membership.
