I don't have specifics but I took it to mean people let go...

Damn.
Hopefully it was just people on the board and not the people that make Mastercam work.

Hopefully Thee Mayor (Jimmy) is okay once the dust settles!

If Sandvik leaves Mcam alone and lets them operate as an individual unit, it will probably ok for users. Knowing Sandvik's incredible self pride, they will do something that sucks. They will probably make it so difficult for other tool vendors to incorporate their tooling libraries that it will be use Sandvik tools or go on your own. Also, if they price things like Sandvik, expect to pay more in the future.

In case you were wondering, I'm not a fan of Sanvik.

On the bright side it was Sandvik and not Autodesk.

I'm curious to find out if the Resellers knew ahead of time or if this was a blindside hit...

probably heard rumors... something like this is impossible to keep totally secret

Hopefully, they will have the resources to do battle with the Evil Empire ( AutoDesk)
on an even playing field now.

Hopefully Sandvik doesn't try to move everyone to a subscription based maintenance.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

They have not done that with Vericut  (yet ???)
Our VC maintenance is due in October.. I might hear something then.
I have never received any communications whatsoever from CGtech about last year's buyout

I am being told management of CNC remains intact and they will operate autonomously...

That seems to be how things are going with CGtech (Vericut) which Sandvik bought last year
