"British Columbia's Fraser Health Authority says it has stopped a pharmacy from administering COVID-19 vaccines after learning syringes were reused on patients.

"We were made aware of an incident involving an infection prevention and control lapse that occurred during COVID-19 immunizations where syringes [the plastic tube that holds the vaccine solution, not the needle] were reused at a pharmacy in one of our communities," the health authority said in a statement to CBC News.

Fraser Health did not name the pharmacy it had suspended or how many patients were given a COVID-19 vaccine with a reused syringe.

It said the pharmacy was part of a provincial pilot program in which residents use a provincial booking system to be vaccinated at the pharmacy."

you should probably read the article and change your title.  It specifically says the needles weren't reused, just the syringe itself.  Much lower risk of cross contamination using the same syringe vs the same needle, although still completely unacceptable.

I read the article,
Ahh you mean not the metal component, still very dangerous, hard to understand how something like this could happen, there is a clear lack of oversight.

yep, the needle and the syringe are usually separate parts.  Neither should ever be reused, especially on different people, but the syringe itself shouldn't ever contain contamination from the person

thinks that's bad , read an article where someone went in to get their " flu shot " and when done they were told to come in to get the second one in a couple weeks . They were like what the fuck did you give me the covid jab ? and the pharmacy was like ya but don't worry you'll be fine .

What goes through someone's mind to think that it's ok to re-use syringes on multiple people?   Glad to hear that the pharmacist got fired.  :(
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

When people are paralyzed with fear they will do insanely stupid stuff and will jump through mind boggling hoops to justify said stupid stuff.

Mission 1 of the government and media; scare the living shit out of people. Mission 2 of the government and it's lapdog media; keep them scared and reliant on the propaganda.

Mission Accomplished.
