Greetings all.
I haven't been here in a while and just wanted to drop in to say hello.

My Mrs. and I recently spent a few days in the hospital after testing positive for COVID.

We are both on the mend and recovering.
I am expecting to be back at work on Tuesday of next week, but for now just resting.

Looking forward to catching up with the forum as soon as I can.

I'm starting to wonder how many forum members have had covid.  Seems like there have been several now.

Good to hear everything is on the mend for the both of you, Jim! Keep the dog walks to a 1/2 hour for now. At this stage, rest and relaxation are important. Exercise comes later..

I'm glad your doing better.  I can't help but wonder now that you've been through it, do you still prefer the risk of covid over the risk of the vaccine? I've just been curious about peoples thoughts on that after the experience. I've got some family members that don't want the shot.  I respect their rights, but I do worry about them because they have some comorbidities.

I think there's at least a half-dozen of us that have. Myself included (January 2021).

Somebody should do an anonymous poll. I don't know how to do one.

Have You Had COVID?
1) Yes
2) No
3) Fairly certain but did not get tested
4) Unusure but did not get tested

I have a follow up with my family doc tomorrow and if everything checks out I should be able to go back to work next week.

Thanks all for the well wishes.

On the subject of the vaccine I have no regrets about my decision to not get it. Now that I have had the virus and have natural antibodies, there is even less of a reason I will get the vaccine.

We also found that the testing is wildly subjective.
My wife had 3 PCR and 1 rapid test, and only one of those showed positive, the 3rd PCR.
Sadly you get zero treatment unless you test positive, and the tests in our case were wildly inconsistent IMO.
Don't even bother with the rapid test if you think you were exposed.

My experience with the rapid test was that unless you had a full blown case of the crap, it would potentially give you a false negative.

The only options around my house, unless you go to the hospital, were rapid tests.  I made sure that I had three negative tests (rapid) before I considered going back to work and I was still a little nervous.

Just repeating a story that was in our local paper. Guy 42 got Covid. He didn't get the vaccine as he felt he would now be immune. Months later he got Covid again.  He didn't survive the last bout sadly

Yep!1 We had 3 guys get killed on Motorcycles these last two days. Here in e'ville.
Everyone said they wished they had been vaxxed and wearing a helmet.

Two of them the helmet wouldn't have mattered...all three of them...Neither would the Vaxx.
