He's not a domestic terrorist because he is black.

Three strikes laws were designed to keep this guy off the street. The problem is, over-aggressive police, for profit prisons, and over ambitious prosecutors abused three strikes laws and tried to "strike out" everyone they could. When I was in my 20's in SoCal, I knew a kid that one prior for marijuana possession. Then he got popped for GTA and caused an accident while fleeing, the DA tried to charge it as two separate "strike" offenses and he was facing life. Definitely a kid heading down the wrong path, but hardly a career violent offender that the three strikes laws were created for. Inevitably the three strikes laws were dropped because of the abuse and now there is no easy means to keep dangerous people off the streets.

One obvious easy way that he could have been kept off the streets would be for a sane, competent judge to say the words: "Request for bail is denied."

Yes, the system is completely broken and in need of serious repair, but some of these judges are only making it worse.
