To go to a school with low enough academic standards to be competitive at the level of the elite teams?

There are only 2 elite teams as of late, and that is Bama and Clemson.
notre dame hasn't won anything since 1988.  :harhar:

And they won't. They will NEVER attract the talent the SEC schools do. That level of talent doesn't like being forced to go to class every day and they don't care much for South Bend.

LSU's last three coaches have won national championships. While they might not be elite, they have a chance. Something Kelly won't have staying at ND.

Seeing how most of the "talent" in SEC only plays for one year I really wonder what their class schedules look like.

Yes we were. Credit due to UM. Good win. I guess OSU can't win every time. Every decade or two we lose to those scumbags..

If you can't read or add 2 plus 2, you can't play for Notre Dame..........

I loved Harbaugh's dig at Ryan Day after the game.

"Sometimes people that are standing on third base think they hit a triple, you know? But they didn't."

Referring to Day inheriting Meyer's team that was exceptional to start his career at Ohio.

 Epic!

Quote from: Bullseye_Gotcha post_id=18913 time=1638197893 user_id=214Lincoln Riley off to USC. Probably makes James happy. It would be nice to have the Pac become some sort of a force again.

The PAC can't become a force until the PAC-12 Network dissolves and the dipstick schedulers. East coast sports media folks don't stay up late for West Coast games. Never have. Never will. Even in the early 2000's when SC was on it's 30+ game winning streak, getting the Sports Writers to give SC it's due respect was impossible. Games out here can't start any later than 5:00pm Pacific Time.

As for being Happy, I am happy Helton is gone. It was a massive mistake hiring him instead of Coach O. Would we have had a Natty? Most likely not. Would we have had some Rose Bowl appearances? Yeah. For sure. And a few wins and probably a loss. Helton was dreadful.

USC's going to have it's work cut out for it. Oregoon with all that shiny $#!+ recruits HARD down here. USC is still the crown jewel of the PAC-12 though. All those National Championships, all those Rose Bowls, all those NFL players, etc.... It still holds a fair amount of allure and it STILL normally draws their opponent's best games.

Cautiously optimistic. It still feels like it's the 1990's... not a great time to be a USC fan.

As a die hard Bama fan, I'll say it's gonna be near impossible to beat GA this coming Saturday.  Maybe all the stars will align, only chance they have.
It seems this year Alabama plays to the level of their opponent, and not an ounce more.  Not good for them facing the best team in the country.

Nobody is unbeatable. But yeah, the Dawgs are damn good this year.

Or, they ONLY see every team they play's absolute best game and it's hard.

As another historic CFB dynasty team fan, I totally get the sentiment. For nearly every team Alabama plays, that game is their own little National Championship game, and the better the opponent, the harder it is regardless of how good you perceive your team to be. ALL the pressure is on your team. The other teams, they are free to play fast and loose because they are not expected to win so for your opponent you add up no pressure, chip on your shoulder because it's ALL about Alabama, big payday for your program, etc... and it equals Alabama is gonna have it's hands full more often than not.

Yep (like New Mexico State).. All teams play some cupcakes early in the season, only the SEC plays them in the middle of their season.

Regardless, good point.

I think Bama beats Georgia. Bulldogs D will get their first real test against a legit offense.
