Changing forum sofware - thoughts?

I want to change the forum software. I'd like some feedback.

It wont be until mid January if all goes well. I'm having a surgery this month so might disappear for a bit.

I'm not going to go in to the ins and outs. The forum change makes it a lot easier to administer. The why explanation is a tedious bore fest. If anyone want's to know I'll share.

The password hash for phpbb is argon so it's not going to transfer over to the new forum. [size=150] You have to reset your password using the 'lost my password' feature or, you can message me and I will set a temp password so you can get in and test it.

I would like some feedback - especially if there is something you don't like about it.

You need to write the https:// to add a link

From what I was able to see it looks fine. Haven't received a reset password email yet, it's been a bit.

It seems like it takes a while some times.

Keep in mind that this is just a test forum. We'll have to do this again once the new forum is set up. That should happen within the first couple of weeks of January. At that point it will be permanent.

I'll open a forum up here that will be for requesting a password change in case the mail thing becomes an issue.

The emojis won't be added right away. I''ll have some work to do implementing them on the new forum. Be patient.

It's been over an hour and no password reset email. Tried with both username and email. Neither sent a message. You aren't using AWS for your hosting are you?? Maybe their outage is effecting the outbound messages for password reset.

No, it's hosted by bluehost. It's possible that they're being affected too. I tried to log in earlier and it just hung.

OK, I checked with my host and apparently they are having problems. Hopefully this gets resolved soon.

Until then, if you want me to reset your password let me know. Otherwise you can browse around the test forum without logging in.

Upon checking the logs, it has been found that we had an issue with a few services on our server and that's why the email is delayed for delivery. I have already added your account to our internal tracker. This has been kept in priority and will resolve it as soon as possible. Once the issue is resolved emails will work without any issues.

I did get my email eventually and was able to reset the password.

Having done what you are doing I get it and no worries about explaining anything to me or for that matter anyone else. It looks good and if makes your life easier you run with it. People don't like it then they can walk a mile in your shoes and then see what it is all about. Thank you for all you're doing.

I will be praying for a speedy recovery for your surgery.

Yes, we were recently having problems accessing our church website, also on bluehost.
We did get it resolved, but it took several interactions with their tech support to get it fixed.
It was a minor inconvenience at the time, but really no big deal.
Their tech support folks were very friendly and helpful.
