Figured that wouldn't last.

Wonder how the college coaching carousel will turn now?

I also wonder if OU or the Gators will have buyers remorse knowing that Meyer is currently available.

Although OU has not had severe sanctions since 1989 and would probably prefer to keep it that way, Meyer may not have been a good fit for them. Gators on the other hand, Meyer would be a strong recruiter in the SE.

He failed in the nfl because he couldn't cheat his way to victory.

In college there is no salary cap. You have the ability to recruit the absolute best players on the planet. Notnsp in the Not For Long.

I was recently fishing in Sarasota Bay. Our guide pointed out Meyer's MASSIVE waterfront house.

I think he'll be ok.

In Meyer's defense, there are several people associated with the NFL that I would kick in arse, if given the opportunity.

Nick Saban and Jim Harbaugh to name a few had mixed results in the NFL. In Urban's defense, he didn't have much to work with the Jags. He's a strong recruiter. If he wants to return to college, he'll easily find a suiter.

I've paid so little attention to the NFL, that I didn't even know he was in the NFL till I read this thread.

Did you forget that Harbaugh took his team to the Super Bowl?

I'm betting he will wind up on ESPN as a analyst or commentator. Hard to turn down a million or 2 for doing that job. Also good odds on a harassment suit somewhere in the future.

Oh yeah. He did? OK. I did say mixed results. Had some subpar years. He's a good coach. Like Saban, they had their struggles in the NFL. And, again, to be fair to Urban - he didn't exactly inherit a team loaded with talent. Lawrence struggling (he's a rookie on a crap team).

Had he just been a Looser. He would still have his job. But the Hot Blonde dancing on his lap....Killed Him.

I'm NOT saying I blame Him...

Saban sucked in the NFL for one reason, he cannot control every aspect of the players and their actions.  When your players make more than you and they kinda do as they please it's a losing battle for him.  Just a different mind set that requires.  Him and Belecheck are the best coaches ever to live IMHO, just different.

13-3 = 1st in NFC West = Champ Game
11-4 = 1st in NFC West = Super Bowl
12-4 = 1st in NFC West = Champ Game
8-8= 3rd in NFC West

I know it pains you to admit, suckeye boy, but his NFL coaching record was pretty damn good.  :harhar:

Your Browns and my Lions haven't had a 4 year span like that in 60 years.

rofl (true), although we had a pretty good stretch in the late 80's early 90's during the Kosar years.

OK, you win the debate. Harbaugh was successful in the NFL.
