It's been mentioned in various covid related threads about which vitamins some of us are taking. I'm sure some of you are taking vitamins for other reasons. I'm curious what brands and why, dosage, etc that you take. There are so many different brands, other things mixed in with the "main" vitamin, etc that some are more tolerable for people than others. That can make it difficult to choose which one to buy.

This isn't strictly a covid related question. What are you taking?

I only started taking vitamins recently, because of covid. I admit that I'm not very educated on the subject, but I've done some reading and am pretty much just winging it. Here's what I take:

Nature's Bounty D3, 4000iu twice a day
Ester-C Vit C, 1000mg twice a day

I was taking 25mg of zinc once a day but I always got a headache shortly after taking it. So I quit taking it.

My wife was taking Ester-C Vit C, 1000mg once a day, but she says she "doesn't tolerate it very well" and wants me to find something different for her.

Last week I spent some time with my uncle who is a chiropractor. He was very adamant on zinc, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and Quercetin. He said Zinc is the key to beating Covid, but you need the other supplements to absorb the zinc into your cells.

The following link is from a doctor that has a supplement for the same. Note; my uncle did not endorse the guy in the link, it's just one I found googling those supplements.

I'm pretty sure I've seen chewable vitamin C. That might help her tolerance issue.

I can't give you my total supplement list right now due to the amount I take. I'll try to make a list when I get home tonight.

As far a vitamin C is concerned I was taking 1000mg in the morning before covid but I kicked it up to three times a day for right now.

Yes, they do have chewable, including gummies. I'll keep that in mind. I bought some buffered vitamin C this weekend so she's trying that now.

Not all supplements are vitamins.

200 mg Co-Q-10 (since I take a low dose of statins)
Calcium (60% daily rec allowance, don't need too much calcium - our bodies very efficient conserving it)

I really don't take any supplements. When I stick to whole foods plant based eating I am the healthiest I have ever been. I try to follow this guide for nutrition, but I don't always hit them all.

Here's Johnny!

I also take B12 as I am deficient in B12.

Dan, what's the relationship between CoQ10 and statins?
