Hi, when I create a 3 axis machine for machsim, when I have operations with the bottom cplane and tplane, with a top wcs Mastercam give an error that the operation is impossible, the code is actually transformed in the post, is there a way to machsim other planes than top for 3 axis machines?

With a Top WCS and a Bottom T-plane, that's "technically" a 4 axis operation...

You'll need to set the WCS/C-Plane & Tplane all the same

Yes, that's an option, however, if the programmer forgot to reset the wcs, it could be disastrous.

I am lost as to why a 3 axis operation/program would require a 4 axis set up?

In my world, setting up a 3 axis program in that manner IS disatrous

Its not, the code is translated to the top by the combined post processor, the operator flips the panel. This allows for simultaneous simulation of operations on both sides.

I was hoping there was a way to pass a new wcs to the simulator, without giving it to the wcs of the operation

I am not sure how you get around that in MachSim...Mastercam will see that as a multi-axis op, whenever WCS and T-plane don't match, it calculates the rotation...

With the 'free" version of MachSim, it is running off of the NCI file, as you're aware, that's "pre-post process" so whatever is happening in the post, is never seen by MachSim...

Thanks for the help, I ended up building a machine in the bottom plane and using that.
