If there were "antifa" or "BLM" people doing this, "demanding to be taken seriously by their government", there would be a lot of people wanting them to be hauled away and imprisoned. Get in the road and get run over type of stuff.

Hell, Republicans are passing laws that it's OK to run over protestors who block a street in some cities in this country.

Just spitballing here...

The economy and supply chains were all ready severely disrupted and the restaurants closed because of the absurd covid restrictions put in place by their .gov.

They are still living under restrictions that even places like Kalifornakstan abandoned over a year ago. Restrictions that studies now say do little to control the spread.

That's kinda why they're protesting.

Uh, isn't that basically what any mass protest is?

We the people will keep doing A until you the .gov agree to do B.

In the case of these truckers, A is blocking roads, refusing to do their job, and honking their horns.

In the case of the 2020 BLM protests down here, their A involved a fair amount of blocking roads too, but it also included over $2 billion dollars in property damage and numerous deaths.

One was applauded by the left, the other is denounced as insurrection.

One of the differences between the Truckers and BLM protests is a list of clearly defined, actionable and lawful demands. The major demand from the truckers is an end or alternative to the vaccine mandate, whereas BLM's demands were/are less clearly defined and impossible to quantify.

Part of the education process controlling the mindset. When the government is in control of the what the people are taught then they don't think for themselves as much and take what the government says as the only correct way of thinking is. When you go against that then you are called crazy or off your rocker. Think I am crazy what does the government in China, Iran and North Korea teach to their citizens. What do the majority of those citizens believe about their country and other countries?

Ask how many of the people that just graduated High School in the USA what these 3 documents mean to them and to protect their freedoms.

Recognizing that the truckers are indeed blocking traffic and doing harm to the economy and the citizens who don't give a chit about the truckers should not be construed as support of the government policies.

There are a bunch of people who want to act like the truckers are all holding peace signs and standing by the side of the road just wistfully wishing to be heard and taken seriously by their horrible government.

As far as I'm concerned if people want to protest peacefully good for them. When it turns to blocking bridges and roads (or destroying property) you've deviated from peaceful protest and are causing harm. Supply chains are shut down, ambulances are shut down, police are shut down, people going to grandmas are shut down, etc.

There is an economic cost that is, or shouldn't be, acceptable.

It's a no go even if you feel strongly about your position because everybody always feels strongly about their positions or they wouldn't be protesting at all.
