I've been watching the 'Book of Boba Fett' Season 1 series on Disney+.

Lots of crossover with the 'Mandalorian' series.

It's been pretty good, but at some points you forget which show you are watching.

I guess that is why Disney released the Boba Fett Season 1 series before releasing the Mandalorian Season 3.

It's all quite confusing!   :headscratch:

The Rings of Power

Bezos is going to spend $1 billion on this series

QuoteAmazon's show, which debuts on Prime Video on September 2, is based not on a Tolkien novel per se but on the vast backstory he laid out in the appendices to the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Five seasons will likely cost the studio well over $1 billion. That kind of budget might decimate most other studios, but Tolkien, like space travel, is a personal obsession for Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who's among the richest people in the world. This is a big-ticket business venture that will allow him to create the most expensive, elaborate TV series ever made. While Jackson is not connected to the project, his movies, as well as their spiritual successor Game of Thrones, proved that there's a massive audience for immersive fantasy. Of course, many have tried to capture that same audience, and few have survived or thrived.

We are starting to see the 'Rings of Power' banners already if you have an Amazon Firestick or FireTV.
I heard they dropped a trailer / teaser for the series during the Super Bowl as well, but I didn't watch that.

Lots of hype in the middle of February for a series that isn't coming out until September.
I hope it lives up to all of the excitement.

I recall reading 'The Silmarillion' a long time ago, which is one of the many companion books to the Lord of the Rings trilogy.  That book was actually written after the LOTR trilogy, and mainly described the beginnings of middle-earth.  I would imagine that will be heavily used in the series, but there is no shortage of Tolkien books in the whole LOTR universe (around 40-ish books iirc), so the sky is the limit.

If it is done well, this could be THEE most epic tv series of all time.

Silmarillion was a tough read for me. I read it traveling by train to basic training at Ft Jackson back in 76 (I was 19)

It was a tough read at the beginning. There were some really good stories in it if you were able to finish it though.

Me & wifey watched After Life on Netflix.  It's 3 short seasons.  Written, directed, and acted by Ricky Gervais.  It's a story about a guy who lost his wife to cancer and the struggles he goes through.  Sounds depressing, but with Gervais, it was funny and fun to watch...  Maybe not for everyone, but my wife and I both enjoyed it and laughed out loud many times during the 3 seasons.  Each season is 6 episodes about 1/2 hour long, so it goes by quickly.

Well it had to happen eventually. In season 3 of Discovery one of the new characters says "I don't identify as she. Please refer to me as them or they." All that amazing Sci-Fy tech and they haven't come up with real words for whatever flavor of non-binary they happen to be.

Heck,I'd guess that by then a person could "really" change themselves into what ever sexual identity that they preferred.

I also just finished watching Season 1 of 'Upload' on Amazon Prime.
Season 2 is coming out in March, so I won't have to wait too long.

It's basically a comedy / drama about a future time where people can 'upload' into a digital world when they die, and they spend the rest of eternity in a digital luxury hotel, as long as their family keeps paying the bill!

Greg Daniels is the creator of the show, (The Office, Parks and Recreation, King of the Hill) so I thought it would be pretty good.
It's kind of quirky and off-beat, but actually pretty entertaining IMO.

I watched that when it came out and it was a fun watch.  It's been so long ago that I had given up on a 2nd season.  I'll have to add that to my watch list when it comes out.

Yeah I read somewhere that Upload Season 2 production got sidetracked hard by the pandemic.

I think it is coming out March 11th 2022...
