One year ago today the temperature here was -17F. Today was in the mid 60s. This evening school districts throughout the area are canceling classes tomorrow in anticipation of a winter storm coming through tonight with ice and snow.

This year is definitely better than last but this morning was still unpleasant. 65 yesterday and 18 right now. They don't appear to be wrong about the snow this time, we've got a good 6 inches of snow and more on the way.

Fortunately I have 6 weeks of PTO in the bank so I don't have to do those white knuckle snow drives any more. :)

I don't remember getting this much snow in February. It's normally a fairly dry month with more than a few brutally cold nights.

Yep, typical Michigan winter weather.
Get some snow, then it turns 50 degrees and it all melts with a couple of days only to get more snow.
rinse,repeat until mid March.

True, February is usually frigid for us. But I'll take snow over sub zero temps any day!

I spent a winter in Montreal but they are vastly better equipped for this stuff than they are here.

I didn't go in this morning because the roads were almost pure ice. By lunch we had a lot of snow and it's still falling but I thought the snow would give better traction. Plus there was almost no traffic.

My kid played golf in KC on Monday in short pants. Measured almost 10" snow yesterday at his apartment.

We got up into the 50s with 2-1/2" of rain followed by a 40 degree temp drop and 6" of snow.

Good times. :coffee:

We only got 1 1/2" - 2" but there is a 1/2" of ice underneath. I slipped and fell and lost my keys under the snow. It took 5 minutes to find them.
