Roe v Wade to be struck down by the Supreme Court!

"IF" this draft turns out to be real,  the court is simply doing what I thought they would do all along.
Frankly, it faithfully would uphold the text of Constitution.

BTW, I don't recall seeing other draft decisions seeing the light of day. If this is a real draft, the release is done by a political hack within the court, simply for the reaction.

and one more thing that might come "if" this is accurate....the Congress may FINALLY have to step up and do the job they were elected to do....the dirty little secret in that is, that Congress doesn't want to bring it up to a vote becasue they will then be on the record....thus, let the courts do it was always their design...it keeps their hands clean, so to speak.

That's cause it's NEVER happened.

The SCOTUS was the LAST place left in our .gov where conservatives and liberals could work together in a civil manner. That's now over.

This leak was a political maneuver meant to help Dems in the upcoming midterms.

It's main goal was to intimidate the SC justices before the ruling is announced it late June
The whole thing smells orcastrated to me
There was a thousands strong crowd, complete with signs at the SC within an hour of the leak.

Whoever leaked that opinion probably ended their career.

This will also open up new fronts in the drive to end the filibuster and pack the SC

Nah. They'll get a lifetime job at CNN or MSNBC.

What strikes me as incredibly funny is how so many people with pronouns in their Twitter profile, those who previously used the terms "birthing people", "pregnant people", and "people who menstruate" all suddenly know EXACTLY what a woman is today.

and if the pundits are going to scream about 50 years of legal precedent...

I might point out that there was also MANY years of legal precedent that "slavery" was legal & moral.

Being legal doesn't make it right.

If Roe V Wade were to get overturned, what would the implications be for medial privacy?  Roe V Wade wasn't just about abortion, right?

That is the most likely reason this is happening, if it is even true.
Dems needed something shocking to galvanize their base before the mid-term election, and there it is.

Biden will come out 100% opposed to this, and he will try to rally the Dems behind his non-existent leadership...again.

I'm waiting to see if our newest Justice will even render an opinion on this since she couldn't define what a woman is during her confirmation hearings.

"A Birthing Person's Right to Choose" just sounds silly!

Medical privacy falls under the Hippa law....that was a signed, sealed & delivered bill signed by the President.

No changes there that I can see immediately

The filibuster has been over for the supreme court's vote for several years now.
