Who is DN Automotive and what does this mean for Doosan?

I just read that DN Automotive bought Doosan. I assume just the CNC branch of Doosan?  I thought that Doosan was picked up by Hyundai last year?

I wonder what this means for Doosan and if this is going to be a good for their machines?

I think the Hyundai deal was just for Doosan Heavy industries and that is why the CNC division was on the market. I remember back when they were Daewoo CNC machines before Doosan bought them. Who knows if it will change. I think they are profitable so it may not change much at all.

We bought a Doosan mill back when they were transitioning away from Daewoo. The machine seemed to have parts sourced from all over the place and nothing (slight exaggeration) was stocked at Doosan. Finding parts for that machine was a nightmare.

Doosan has come a long way since then.

interesting development. I was under the assumption that Doosan was going to take over the world.
Taking a look at the breadth of their machine portfolio, is this like a restaurant that has and expansive menu that only attain mediocre quality? Like high end restaurants that have and extremely limited menu, the highest of which the Chef, tell you what you're having tonight.

I work for Doosan and have known about this for about a year. Best kept secret this time around. OK, first, we have been purchased by a company with a long track record in manufacturing. They want to keep us as a manufacturing entity in line with our current principles. Build excellent machine tools at a value. MBK Partners gave us a long leash but it was a financial investment first and foremost. Personally, I think this is a great thing. Being bought by someone with a true interest in manufacturing is good for everyone. No changes at all for the time being. As far as the Doosan name, we were licensing that from Doosan Heavy Industries and knew all allong that it was temorary. Hyundai bought Doosan so the time had come to change  the name, no choice. We had thought of Puma Machine Tools but I digress. Overall, this will be a great thing.

Puma makes more marketing sense.
long history of brands taking the name of their most popular models. From wristwatches to cars.
There is a story about when Tesla EV company was being founded, someone else held the copyright to the name. New guy camped out on owners front steps until he sold it to him.
I'm working for a conglomerate that bought a machine tool line outright along with the name.
DMGMori had a spell with the transition, who the hell wants to buy a 'DN' when they already have a shop full of Doosans? Seems like a crap idea.
