Quote from: Incogneeto on June 16, 2022, 03:31 PME'ville is officially a Cracktown. Meth has overrun it.

ALBANY OREGUN I heard that its the meth capitol of the state but seems its everywhere.
scary people walking around everywhere like zombies .
the cops just drive by ,
yesterday I was leaving and there was a circle of 5 people all using and having a good ole time not a 20 yards from the county jail door
it happens all to often ,
sometimes as I'm driving by and see someone just laying there on the sidewalk I wonder if they are Alive or dead  its weird to see every day

I know a addict and ask if they are scared of getting a bad batch and they jus say everyone gotta go some time.
they don't care if they live or die  :-[

Quote from: BrianP. on June 17, 2022, 09:45 AMIf you have made it out the other side good for you. For whatever reason no one knows why some people just can't break free. Whether it is genetic or psychological they really can't figure out. Just lost my brother May 21st. He used alcohol to self medicate. Just as much of a drug as anything else. This October will be 16 years that I have not drank. Kinda knew where I was heading and said fuck that. Why could I and not my brother put it down? We will never know. We miss him terribly and remember him as he was before the booze took over.
Did your brother have schizophrenia? I've known three people with schizophrenia (including my wife) and they all called the heavy drinking "self medication". What I have done with my wife is buy her a 40 ounce bottle of beer every Friday after work. For some reason that seems to relieve her stress knowing that the next Friday is beer day.

My mom coped by chain smoking.

Quote from: Matthew Hajicek on June 17, 2022, 11:35 AMCovid decided for me.  Ever since I had it I can't have a drink without getting a splitting headache.  It knocked out my insulin cells too.

Oh man...sorry to hear that.
I have heard of some bizarre side-effects from COVID, but that's a new one for me.

Any idea if those things will be permanent?
I have heard of people having lasting side-effects for a year or more until showing signs of improvement.
Hopefully yours will subside over time.

Permanent so far, since March of 20.  My physical fitness is still suffering a bunch too.  At least my brain seems to be mostly back.

Oh well that's good to hear.

That COVID mental fog is definitely a real thing.
I experienced it for at least a few days when I had COVID, and it was kind of scary.

In fact, I remember going on the Rite-Aid website on my phone to schedule a COVID test for my wife and myself at that time.  Normally for me, doing something like that online is just a few simple clicks and only takes a few minutes. But I distinctly remember getting so confused I had to put my phone down and walk away.  :wallbash:

Weeks later I read an article about 'COVID Fog' and realized that was exactly what happened to me.

I've only known 1 person with that. And yeah he loved his Budweiser. He was always hammered when he wasn't working.

yes..my wife had a mild case of covid in late May/early June
I never ran a fever or had a positive test but I felt off for several days.
I worked from home for about 10 days and there were a few times when I was sitting
in front of my PC and didn't know how to use it. very scary stuff!!
I think covid is never going away and will be with us the rest of our lives.
Now they are giving babies and very young children the vaccines...there is no telling
where that will lead....  no where good, I'm sure

Pfizer's latest legal filing in a case is that they are immune because the gov't was in on the fraud.
