I think that's a big part of what is driving the desperation and radicalism we see in the Republican party.

elaborate on that thought.  when I listen to the likes of Bill Maher, he describes it differently, saying "I haven't changed. the Democrat party is changing." but his thoughts sound more and more conservative all the time even though he despises republicans.

when you were ten years old, did you think that men would marry men, or that there would be drag queen story hours in schools, or that a man would be able to declare himself a woman and use the girls bathroom? I didn't think that would ever happen when I was 10. 

I do think that the republican party has changed, but I think the changes have mostly been in civility, but not in so much in ideals.  If anything they have become more moderate. When it comes to gay marriage now, the sentiment that I hear from republicans is "Whatever! who cares!"  In that respect at least, they have moved to the left. They have definitely moved to the left in govt spending.

Some times I wonder if Republicans are aware that Gen-Z is probably the least right leaning generation in our life times and it's only going to get worse from there.  Is there enough self awareness in the party to realize that their base is aging and disappearing...

The hippies of the 60 rebelled against the dominant culture of their time, right wing/conservative culture. That culture was promoted by the .gov, the media, Hollywood, etc. They rebelled cause that's what young people do.

Ask yourself, what is the dominate culture of today? That is the culture young people will rebel against.

my daughter's best friend got pregnant when she was 17. her mother didn't approve of the father and took her to a planned parenthood to get an abortion against the teenagers wishes. coercing her by threatening to kick her out of the house.  Nobody there asked her what SHE wanted they simply did what the girls mother told them to do. it's been 10 years now and she still cries over that baby today.  pro-choice is a lie.
