About 3 years ago Sri Lanka mandated their farming be 100% organic
Today the country is broke, the people are starving and the government has fallen

Wonder if we'll see that kind of uprising in our lifetime? I used to say no way. Today, I'm not so sure.

If you believe the idiots on the J6 committee, Jan 6 2021 was way worse than that.
There are still over 80 American patriots held in solitary confinement over J6

Yeah... I keep hearing this "insurrection" word yet NOT ONE person has been charged with it.

Quote from: gcode on July 11, 2022, 08:54 AMThis isn't about nitrogen...it's a land grab plain and simple

If only there was such a device that could help the farmers protect thier land... whatever might something like that be?

I didn't know this until recently but the Netherlands is the #2 producers of meat and dairy products
in the world, a close 2nd to the US
That is remarkable given it's tiny landmass

$BYND Beyond Meat Inc is down 80% in the past 12 months.

Perhaps this is a signal the interest in animal-protein alternatives isn't as great as once forecast.

I think there is two reasons for that.

1. Price point. Beyond meat is expensive. A 1lb package is twice the price of 1lb of ground beef. Not many people will be willing to try it at that difference.

2. Beyond has partnered with a lot of restaurants. They offer burgers, breakfast sandwiches, etc. The problem is, if you are really trying to adhere to a plant based diet, all of the Beyond offerings in restaurants are still loaded with animal product cheeses, sauces, buns, eggs, etc.

Science and reality are going to force everyone that isn't rich to be vegans. The current state of animal agriculture is not sustainable. As the worlds population grows there will not be enough land to support it. Also the waste is doing serious damage to the environment. Ignoring it won't make the problem go away. All ignoring it does is leave a bigger problem for future generations.

Shazam/TPP

so what your saying is, we need a world war to decrease the surplus population or a virus that can do the same?
