This quote took about 30 seconds to dig up 'course it's only Clarence Thomas's words.

Justice Clarence Thomas argued in a concurring opinion released on Friday that the Supreme Court "should reconsider" its past rulings codifying rights to contraception access, same-sex relationships and same-sex marriage.

In his concurring opinion, Thomas — an appointee of President George H.W. Bush — wrote that the justices "should reconsider all of this Court's substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell" — referring to three cases having to do with Americans' fundamental privacy, due process and equal protection rights.

Quote from: YoDoug on July 12, 2022, 11:57 AMWithin the last 48 hours Biden, Becerra, and Walensky have all been on video saying we are going to have another Covid

We are already having another covid outbreak
My shop is getting hammered, nearly 20% are out right now.
We are on the cusp of mandatory bi weekly testing.
My department is now working from home, with one 'grammer per day in the office
on a rotating basis.

On the bright side, the people who are sick aren't nearly as sick as in previous outbreaks

Quote from: Jim at Gentex on July 12, 2022, 11:21 AMSo of course, rabid leftist fearmongering is as good an explanation as any since Justice Alito SPECIFICALLY addressed those other issues.

I don't think it helped when Clarence Thomas came out and said in his concurring opinion, that the Supreme Court should reconsider its past rulings codifying rights to contraception access, same-sex relationships and same-sex marriage. That's just a dumb thing for him to say considering the (Alito's) opinion. It also doesn't help with the rhetoric.

One thing I don't quite understand. The wacko's who think that it's a good idea to follow around and publicly harass the very people who hold the rights you're complaining about in their hands seems like a really stupid idea to me.

Yes, his concurring opinion did mention that.
However, it was a SOLO opinion, and since Alito went out of his way to mention the fundamental difference between those specific cases and Roe, I think that is a clear signal that Justice Thomas may be on his own.

But IF the Court reconsiders ANY prior ruling, and IF it is indeed found to be unconstitutional, then it SHOULD be rectified, no matter what the specifics of the case happen to be.

SCOTUS 'codifying' refers to legislating from the bench, like in Roe when they invented a right out of thin air.

As much as I argued with that guy, I didn't mind him once I started to understand that's just who he is. A guy who likes to argue.  I'm guessing that he's not as bad in person. But yes, he would definitely get wound up and just loved to insult people.
