The homeowner would be in jail

QuoteA Florida homeowner will "absolutely not" face charges after firing an "AK-47-style gun" at suspected home invaders, a local sheriff said.

"He started shooting for his own protection, to get them out of his house and to protect himself," Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons said of the recent shooting in a video address posted to the office's official Facebook page.

Don't be surprised if the Feds don't try to find some way to charge him with a "civil rights" violation...

They are going nuts here in Cali

They just passed a law allowing laws suits against gun manufactures
That has been stuck down once already by the SC... but they are taking another run at it.

They are also working on a law requiring a liability insurance policy for every gun you own.
I don't know if that one is law yet.
That will be interesting because I doubt any insurance company will sell a policy like that
for any affordable price.

The lunatics have a supermajority here... and they can pass any law they want.
and they really like passing laws

It looks like NY & CA are just looking for another battle in court....much of what they're trying to do, based on the last decision will be shot down...

When they are finally out of options, THAT is when the Repeal the 2nd push will really come on

It's great with the supreme Court. Did what they should have done 200 years ago with the brewing decision finally.
It would also be great if they would put a hold on all these unconstitutional laws that are being generated they are adjudicated

That would then give them a power they don't have....and imagining that power in the hands of courts in the last 50 years....eek!

In what context? If it's for suicides and homicides then that's absolutely stupid. But then again we're talking about the fragile safe space people in Cali who get upset at ANYTHING that they don't like and want it changed because "it gives them anxiety".

Yes... the current court would shoot it down
but these things are a 10 year battle and who knows what the court will look like a decade from now'

Meanwhile, they have their boot on your neck.
Under the current regime, I've probably got 20 or 30 felonies sitting in my gun safe..
There are so many gun laws in Kalifornia nobody knows how to comply,  and I don't
even own an evil black rifle

Yup

They are playing the long game, no doubt...BUT will something like this get fast tracked?  Certainly not likely but it could happen. Though admittedly, I wouldn't bet on it happening

It's not about fragile safe spaces... it's about bankrupting the firearms industry
That is their plainly stated goal and they make no secret of it

If gun mfg's lobbied as much money as the pharm companies, do you think this would be happening?

People don't buy weapons once a month every month like you would with prescriptions.

I know this.
It was a hypothetical question.

Gun MFG's have annual revenue in the 100's of millions, Big pharma has revenue in billions. Not an apples to apples comparison.
