Paint Colors on Cars in the Late 60's

Needing to get my parents old 69 Mustang insured that was passed down to me. I looked up the vin number on a website and just got a list of the different paint schemes they offered back then. We have what 5 choices for most cars now a days. We progressed backwards in the options we can have the color of our vehicles.

I totally agree with you there Ron.

I'm a big fan of 1955-1957 Chevrolets. (Used to own a 1955 in my youth)

Colours like Navajo Tan, Matador Red, Dusk Rose, Ivory Pearl, Shoreline Beige, Sea Mist Green, Glacier Blue, Crocus Yellow, Onyx Black, just to name a few.

And they were great colours. Not to mention the exhaustive list of options and accessories. I recently bought a new car and I had a choice of six colours, and picked a trim level. That was it. About ten different accessories like a trunk liner and sill plates etc.

Take me back in time, please! :)

Went to a car show recently, this post reminded me of a car that I saw. It was neat how they broke down the options for that year.

Started out with something like 5000 of that model car was made that year.
2500 had bucket seats or whatever
500 had whatever other options
100 had some other options
20 were a certain color.
1 of them had a limited slip differential

The car I saw was that one car.
