It's no wonder our fringes feel like our Country is headed toward a Civil War.

sometimes, I watch old debates or political discussions on youtube. I miss 2 things about those times. The Civility and the Articulation that existed. William F Buckley had countless conversations with people he disagreed with and kept it friendly. Walter Mondale laughed at President Reagan's jokes during debates. Kennedy and Nixon were civil to each other. There is nuance to political ideas, but today those ideas get dumbed down to caricatures of themselves. We should pay more attention the the nuance of a person's political ideas, but we should also elect people capable of explaining their ideas.

60 years later, we know Kennedy's victory was rigged by organized crime fixing the vote in Chicago.
I've always though he and his brother were murdered because they made a deal with the devil and failed
to live up to their side of the bargain.

I'm glad that someone actually believes in the nuance of politics.  Most people only see the black and white of every issue and we are all far to complacent in falling for the rhetoric.

I miss those days too.  Now it seem like people would rather hear Trump degrade his opponents wife than actually say anything substantial.  Biden gets the nomination just because they feel like he's the only person that could potentially beat Trump, even though his record goes against everything that his constituents want from/for our Country.

This is probably one of the better way's I've seen it explained.  I constantly post memes and quotes from that movie idocracy.  I'm not sure that movie is too far off anymore.  People read headlines and ignore the articles.  Most of our "journalists" are just editorialists (is that even a word? :D ) pretending to be journalists.

Everything is a meme these days.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Searching I have found a couple of interesting articles.

One on voting machines vulnerability.

This one is on Democrats refusing to accept the 2004 election.

Personally I think it's over. We are on a downhill slide to complete chaos

I blame the 24 hr media and social networking for launching us into ludicrous speed of division and anger.

I only see it getting worse.

The old "hanging chad" controversy. I forgot whether the hanging chad was or wasn't a vote for Gore.

if it was punched for Gore it was a vote for Gore
if it had hanging chad it was a vote for Gore
If it had hanging chad but it was punched for Bush it was a vote for Gore
if it was punched for Bush but it had a dimple for Gore it was a vote for Gore
if neither had a dimple, punch or any identifying mark whatsoever it was a vote for Gore
if the guy worked in the oil industry voted for Bush but seemed ashamed of it when he walked in the door it was a vote for Gore.

I think the instant, universal, ability of everyone's opinion to be aired, has brought on a paradigm shift in society. Not unlike the shifts that occurred as humanity transitioned from a primarily agrarian society to an industrial one.

It's now a race between society adjusting to the shift, and it breaking itself before it can make the adjustment.

Us thrashing about in search of someone to blame (that someone, generally, being our families, friends, neighbors & fellow countrymen), instead of applying ourselves towards solutions, ain't helping sh*t.

But, the truth be told, embracing the brotherhood of victim-hood, has a certain comfort that is difficult to resist.

Well you're not wrong about conservative friendly media. When the overwhelming annals of the culture are overwhelmed by commies and leftist (as if there's a diff), commiserating on our situation with media dujour is understandable.
Limousine liberals playing the victim card from an ivery tower to push a proletariat agenda is quite different, as you're well experienced.
