Figured I'd ask here since we've talking about the FBI a lot lately...

Has anyone else found getting Betsey Ross flags over the last few years has become increasingly difficult?

I'm not sure exactly why, perhaps more people are flying them or because of the (now) FBI Domestic Terrorist/Militia implications. I've asked and not received any meaningful responses. Anyway, the usual suspects have been "out of stock" (Annin, Valley Forge, etc...) the last couple orders.

I go through between 2-4 flags per year because of the harsh environment where I live. The high-end Anin flags lasted the longest... around 7 months. The Valley Forge ones seem to only last around 6 months.

Anyone else fly a Betsy Ross Flag? If so, where do you normally get them?

I have flown 2 flags primarily for a while;

Betsy Ross Flag

Star Spangled Banner Flag

I fly the different flags for a couple different reasons.

I fly the Betsy Ross flag because I lament where we are as a nation today and kind of as a protest. I have half a mind to fly it upside down because we truly are a Republic in distress but I don't want to draw TOO much attention. Betsy Ross is enough of an overt statement without going over the top. I have not flown a 50 Star flag regularly for a VERY long time. I want to say 2006-ish?? I have one that I only use if my Betsy Ross AND my Star Spangled Banner are no longer fit for display for the few days it takes to get replacements if I forget to order them prior to them being unfit to fly.

I fly the Star Spangled Banner flag because my Grandfather flew it on his flag pole. Mostly on special days (usually Flag Day and Memorial Day).I still have his flag that he flew when I was a kid. I flew it for about 20 years keeping his tradition of flying on Flag Day and 4th of July. It has since been retired from outdoor display but I still keep it as a memory of him.

A little history regarding the Star Spangled Banner flag;
The "Star-Spangled Banner" was flying above FT. McHenry at Baltimore when the British attacked on September 13, 1814. Francis Scott Key, a lawyer from Washington had gone aboard a British ship seeking the release of a friend held prisoner. He was detained throughout the night. The sight of the American flag still flying over the fortress the next morning inspired Key to write what, in 1931, became our National Anthem. The original FT. McHenry flag is displayed in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington. This design, born with the second flag act on January 13, 1794, is our only official flag ever to have more than thirteen stripes. This flag has 15 stars and 15 stripes.

My wife's brother is a retired Vietnam vet who flies his standard American flag full-on upside down in front of his house in Florida.

He has heard both positive and negative comments from his neighbors, but he doesn't care.

He definitely views the United States as a country in distress, and said he will continue to fly it that way until something changes.

I fly a standard American flag and a USMC flag on holidays.
The red in the USMC flag is fading a little. I guess I need to replace it.

Yeah people flying the Betsy Ross flag are on the FBI watchlist, but not BurnLootMurder or Antifa.

Personally I've always liked the Betsy Ross version.

I put up a 20 ft flag pole this year with a 4 by 6 Flag.  Looks awesome if I knew how to simply post a pic on here.

I've seriously contemplated it. I currently have my flag pole attached to my house. It's in next year's budget to add a real hoinest to goodness flag pole. If something doesn't change substantially by then, mine will fly upside down as well despite my wife's protests.

My bro-in-law has a fairly straightforward take on it:

-To those who agree with him, he obviously takes no issue.

-To those who disagree with him, he views that as their right to do so, and he strongly believes that their freedom to hold that opinion is just as important to him as his freedom to express his opinion.

-To those who not only disagree with him, but also demand that he change the way he chooses to fly his flag, he considers that in itself as an encroachment on HIS freedom.

He also considers them to be part of the problem since they obviously don't have a clue about the principle of freedom that flag represents, so they can fuk off and just keep walking.  :yes:

I dont really have a need to buy a Stars and Stripes flag. I'm just here to say that any iteration of the flags above, are my favourite flag. Just something about it.

I contemplated buying one that was flown on the USS Missouri in Pearl Harbour when we were there in 2016. I was going to go back and get one but didn't get the chance before we flew out. Next time I will :)

I think I can go 30' with no issues. More than that and I think I'll have to find a more suitable location because of the foundation requirement for something taller.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything there.

The location of my flag is primarily the reason I do not. It is fairly easy to access. Once I get a flag pole, then only the people intent on being jackasses could access it.

Quote from: Newbeeeeâ„¢ on August 11, 2022, 03:05 PMI do admire the patriotism of you boys.
I left my country as it was going to the dogs.
I detest the way it's being purposefully driven into the ground and although my parents, sister and kids are there, i never want to set foot there again.

Likewise, I admire the patriotism shown there. We've been in the USA around the 4th July. I distinctly recall all the homes in Newport Beach decorated with USA flags, and those rose type USA flags (can't recall what they were).
