There has to be better things to complain about?

If you dig a little deeper than the propaganda, there is nothing more to the agenda than to teach people to be accepting of those who are a little different.  They're not trying to 'groom' anyone's kids. 

On the flip side of that coin, and I have no right to talk because I don't have kids, but it's not their job to decide for people what their children are exposed to.

Here in Kansas the GOP is pushing to overturn a court decision protecting the rights of people to not be fired for being LBGTQ. The GOP nominee for governor announced one of his leading priorities is prohibiting trans people from participating in sports.

Really? Is that really a huge problem in Kansas? Answer: It's not. So why the push to prohibit it? I'll not answer that for you, but it's pretty obvious.

You're right Neuro, Just be nice to people, or if you can't manage that then just don't be mean for no reason other than somebody is different.

It's like a bunch of middle aged kids picking on the person who's different except these are full grown fucken people who should have grown out of that shit.

But that, folks, is a priority in the GOP policies. Not inflation (they just want to bitch about that) not the economy (they just want to bitch about that) not unemployment (they just want to bitch about that). It's critical race theory (aka history class) and making sure LBGTQ people don't have the same rights as everybody else. Oh yeah, and election security (gerrymandering and voter suppression) is also way up there even though there's not a shred of evidence to support their claims of fraud.

That's not true.  It's the same on both fringes of politics.. You get ridiculous policies that seemingly come out of spite for the other side. But it's not the norm.

It's sad to see politicians play this game and it's worse to see people play in to it.  We should be smarter than that.  And I hope that were better than that.

You're starting to see how this plays out in the States that have went hard right on abortion laws.  I'm not usually optimistic, but I'm hoping that this self corrects before it gets out of hand.

The examples I named are true. Those things are absolutely happening in Kansas.

You're right in that a common tactic in politics is promoting policies they know are not going to succeed, and maybe they don't even want them to succeed, to try to make the other side look bad. They force votes and then claim the other side hates babies but loves cancer or some other over the top shit. We see it all the time.

The difference is the Republicans are advocating these things. It's not the Democrats, or MSNBC, or any other left wing source saying they support it.
