One of the things I appreciated about Troy Percival vs. Barry Bonds innthe Angel's vs. Giants World Series. Troy pitched gas to Barry. Of course Barry sent that ball into the next zip code. Mad respect to pitchers that donthat.

I heard an interview with an Hispanic announcerthat's close to him. He said albert had one goal. To pass Arod on the list.  I'm glad he did.

Agreed.
I think guys pitching to Albert are fully aware that he is on 700 watch.
However, I also think they need to have the same mindset as with every batter.

I remember my Little League coach used to tell our pitchers to:
"Be aggressive, work the count, try to get ahead in the count, and try to get him out."
Even on the biggest stage, the fundamentals don't change.

My LL coach also used to tell our pitchers,
"Your job is to get the batter out, and his job is to get on base. If you do your job better than he does, he will walk back to the dugout shaking his head.  If he does his job better than you do, you go right back to focusing on the next batter with the count starting again at 0-0."

That was great advice, and I still remember it to this day. 

I know there probably aren't any MLB pitchers today who want to serve up a fat pitch to Albert for number 700, but somebody probably will.
When they do, I hope they can say, "I gave him my best stuff, and he tagged one anyway..."

There was little reason to watch the Red Sox this year...went to a game in May but ehy started their swan dive approaching the Allstar break and have been difficult to watch since....

Over these last years, baseball has become painful to watch on TV....they've allowed the players & umpires to slow the game down FAR too much...

One of my favorite highlights from Pujols career came in 2001. I can't remember what team they were playing. He had been tearing up the league. when he got to the plate. the pitcher threw one at his chin. It knocked him down and he landed on his back in the dirt. He got up dusted himself off a little and shot the pitcher a look and took the next ball deep over the left field wall. I wish I could find that highlight on youtube.
