My employer runs Bitdefender Endpoint Security
I'm running Bitdefender Inernet Security at home
In both cases, Bitdefender is flagging downloads from Mastercam.com as malware and killing
them
I was able to come up with a workaround at home but I'm out of luck at work.

Is anyone else running Bitdefender and seeing this issue??

I feel like Bitddefender issues in the past needed whitelisting or something by mastercam and it was a whole thing, maybe 2021?\

I dont use that one unfortunately, are the files blocked in the properties after the download?

Once the download is complete the download manager says " couldn't download, network issues"
and the name  the downloaded file is unconfirmed 688646.crdownload or something like that
If disable Web Protection scanning the download will proceed normally
Obviously Bitdefender is throwing a false positive on downloads from Mastercam.com

Does this happen for anything you download from the site, or just the installer?

I tried downloading a sample lathe file from the Tech Exchange.
It was a zip file and came in with no problems.
Then I tried downloading the MC2023 Update 1 Full Install,  a 2.7g zip file
The connection was really bad though. After 5 minutes I only had 100 mg downloaded
so I gave it up
We have a dols 1g internet connect so something is wrong on Mastercam's end this morning

Ok.. a zipped sample file downloads without issue
a zipped install package get's killed..  the download filename is "Unconfirmed 658068.crdownload"

I recently tried to Hightail a file to a customer and it was flagged as containing a virus.  It was a simulator .exe file.  A PDF file went through without problems.  I put the file that wouldn't go on my OneDrive and it was flagged with a virus by the customer's system.

I ended up renaming the file by adding a .safe to the extension and it went through without a problem.

This won't help you with Mastercam's installer files.  I don't think you can get them to rename the file extension.  I have seen this before where files that are executable have been blocked.

This is  still broken
My IT people and QC at Mastercam are working it.
They are going to have to put a submittal together and get Bitdefender to white list Mastercam's download site

They finally got this fixed
It was a false positive by Bitdefender
Last Thursday Bitdefender's response to our service request was tough shit, not our job
On Friday our IT dept got a survey from Bitdefender asking for a review of the service we received
Our IT Department wrote a blistering review.
On Monday morning everything was working normally
