What's old is new again

The Browning Hi Power is back

I want one, but I can't buy it in Cali

My kid lives in Utah. I've got a number of things on my list that I WILL own and bring back into the state of Kommiefornia... legally via Intra-familial transfer.

....and it's going to be near impossible to get around Kaliforniastans handgun roster with current erroneous supreme court thinking in terms of in common use as the gold standard.
New fangled anything will have an uphill battle unless we get some clarity on arbitrary laws against color, furniture and plastic add-on doodads.

But yeah, I'd like a effing high power too. 😜

The Browning Hi Power is hardly new fangled. It dates back to the 1930's
The new FN High Power is a new take on the old historical design.
There is no new technology, just better steels and tighter manufacturing tolerances.
That will not prevent the assholes who run CA from keeping it off the approved roster

I got the chance the other day to directly compare a brand new CZ-75 BD with one from the 90's that has about 1000 or so rounds though it.  The new one has much better machining finishes on the internals, and a near perfect lockup.  The old one is good, but the new one is even better.

Has there been a Second Amendment lawsuit against Cali for picking what they deem is okay is not okay?

endlessly
but even when 2A wins, they find a friendly judge to overturn it
or change a couple of words to make a new law and 2A must start again
You have to remember, we are fighting people with endless resources, fanatic beliefs
and a complete lack of ethics and honor.
Their goal is an unarmed population and they will do whatever they deem necessary to make that happen

I heard a conspiracy theory a few weeks ago, this is why they are adding 75000 new IRS agents that are being hired and trained to use force to infiltrate residential properties. To get around the 2A they are going implement an annual gun ownership tax, per gun, that is so large that most will not be able to afford to keep their guns. Those that do not surrender will be visited by the new IRS storm troopers.

No it was just a machinist that I know. No evidence to back it up, that's why I said it was a conspiracy theory.

After the friendly judge overturn you can go to the State Supreme court and then the Supreme court. I'm sure at this time the whole nation would have a uniform friendly 2A ruling.

well currently, the ninth circus, after having their ass handed to them by SCOTUS justice Thomas, they punted back down to a superior judge (Saint) Benitez to re-hear what he already correctly decided and they overruled using laughable two-step process that always favors the state and not the people. So it's just a delay tactic where they will the re-hear using a 3 judge panel once again... followed by a full en banc hearing that should take years if they have their way.

meanwhile thee state is arguing that the gun control bill passed by the legislature is unaffected by the recent SCOTUS rulings because furniture and add on doodad and 'shoulder things that go up' are not actually arms, so they don't fall under the auspices of the 2A.
