Screw politics, here's something we can agree on - guitars are awesome. Here's my current love interests.

'78 American P-Bass
2005 Firebird VII

Bass rig: Aims VTB-120 120w tube head, sounds like the end of the world.  1st Gen GK400 but I just play that at home.  Made the cabs, the surround accents are acoustic guitar wood falloff

Guitar rig, Laney AOR100 w/ a (not shown) Sovtek Mig 50 into a home built 4x12 with WGS Veteran 30s and a 2x12 with heritage 30s. Amp on top is a hiwatt I built my wife

nice toolbox too!! I don't have any electrics anymore but, by far, the best guitar I've ever owned is my Taylor 814ce.

I'm waiting on my Epiphone Firebird...supposed to be in this month...my Marshall DSL40 is plenty for the homeboy picker...I might, if I can find one that's not crazy, buy an older Fender Twin Reverb....that will pair nicely with my Strat...though the Marshall does it justice  :)

Nice! Glad you enjoy it - what year is it?

Nice, the DSL40 would suit pretty much anyone if they aren't gigging regularly.   I had a'68 twin and ended up selling it because I just got sick of carting it around and my other guitar player just vibed with it more

Del.

I just have a 20 yr old Takimine and probably older Charvel electric. Been a few years since I've touched them.

2007. It replaced several older guitars that I had lost in a house fire. I had insurance money to use and I realized I could buy just about any guitar I wanted in the store. I hadn't really considered a purchase like this prior because the money wasn't on the books. but now it was like a lottery ticket.

My mind was set on a Gibson, but when I went in and played all of the top end guitars they had at Guitar Center, the Taylor won out. I was really disappointed in the Gibsons, The Martins sounded good but they all needed the action taken down. But the Taylor was perfect right of of the box, in my opinion.

yeah that's about on average how it goes and why we have gained as much market share as we have.  Martin generally has their action a bit higher, it helps get that big open 'Martin' sound, but comes at a cost of playability. Martin evangelists will say Taylor action is too low and they sound 'tight', which is kind of true but other people would say it sounds more 'focused' or clear/bright/articulate etc. etc.     My solution would be to buy both!

I was always a Martin/Gibson fan but I've been converted, especially since we have the American Dream series of guitars now which to me gets real close to a martin sound while keeping really nice playability.

I have ..6? gibsons and their quality is all over the map. Super bummer.   I bought that firebird from a co-worker because I knew he dialed it in for himself, and that's worth $1k right there.

I just bought a fender 65 reissue deluxe reverb amp. I got the Sweetwater version with the wine-colored case. I also have a 1979 Fender Champ that I absolutely love. You would never think 5 watts through an 8 inch speaker would sound good. I also have a 40 Fender Rumbler bass amp.

For my guitars, I just bought an Epiphone Limited Edition 1959 Les Paul that sounds great through the deluxe reverb. I also have 3 SGs, 2 Gibsons and one Epiphone. I actually like the Epiphone SG best. It's Inverness green with P90 pickups. The Gibsons are a heavily modified 2013 SGJ and a 2010 Standard.
The Les Paul has Gibson Burstbucker 2 and 3 pickups Switchcraft switch and jack and CTS pots.
Oh, and I have a 70s style Fender Vintera Custom Telecaster.

I also have a Cort bass, a PRS base and an Ibanez bass.
And I have a Martin 000-15M acoustic.

The only thing I have left that I really want is a DSL40 like JP has.

Whoa nice! I have a champ too and yeah it's exactly like that. I have a little Vox Pathfinder 15 that I totally love. Solid state but still sounds great.
I know exactly that Epiphone SG, coworker has one and that's a GREAT looking guitar. His was a little rough around the edges but we took care of it and it's a blast, sounds great.

so...I have, nothing of an earth shattering collection but I'm happy with it  :)

'85 Ibanez Roadster II RS135 was black on black, gave it a turtoise shell pickguard, Seymour Duncan pickups
'83 Ibanez Roadster II RS315 in Marine blue, it has one nick on the back, otherwise pristine
'20 Epiphone Standard LP
'?? Schecter Omen 6
'87 Charvel Model 1
'21 Fender Strat Ultra

Still waiting on my Epiphone Firebird to come in...

Marshall DSl-40

Boss pedal board with a rotating selection of pedals

I do need to add a Bass into this....a Fender P-Bass is the most likely candidate

TylerBeer

nice!  I've been itching for a Charvel..

When I bought my p-bass I thought I would end up getting something else once I 'figured out what I like', and I've never wanted to change. My bass gear is in complete contrast to my guitar gear where I found some stuff I like, stuck with it and never looked back. I only have so many bass amps because our band has synthesizer and we needed backups for touring

mowens

I had an Ibanez RoadstarII Deluxe bass back in 86.
I loved that thing. Sorry I ever sold it.

A non scientific observation says there are a many guitar players here. That's something I always wish I had a talent of, but I was not given that gift of making music (singing, playing an instrument).I have always been jealous of those who could. BUT, I love listening to music! In my (now closed) shop, a stereo system with 4 speakers was always on when I worked.

Music will soothe the soul.
