Workers installed razor wire atop 7-foot fencing around the US Capitol on Friday as part of an unprecedented fortification effort ahead of next week's inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.

National Guard members are also being sent to Washington, DC, from as far away as Hawaii to provide security, with Maj. Gen. Kenneth Hara, the Aloha State's adjutant general, saying the request for troops came Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.

A Defense Department official said as many as 200,000 Guard members have been authorized to protect the Jan. 20 ceremony, ABC News reported.

Yup.  There were Trump loyalists on the Capitol police force, including their leader who refused the reinforcements offered by several other agencies.  Several officers are facing charges.

And beckoned towards the building getting the hurry up by a cop.
So?

I still think that was explained by people who were there.
The barricades were forcibly knocked over on one side of the building by protesters who outnumbered the police guarding those barriers. There are videos out there that clearly show that.

I think once that happened, the police on the other side were either ordered to move the barriers, or they just thought of it on their own after seeing the other side of the building get overrun.  They didn't have nearly enough police to slow down the protesters, so they wisely just stepped aside instead of being trampled.
