Quote from: YoDoug on November 22, 2022, 12:41 PMWell then, I guess you are right. Dem voters are uniformed and ignorant.

   I think that his point was, it attracts more voters who typically wouldn't bother to vote whether they are Republican or Democrat.  I would guess that you have a larger number of younger voters in mail in States and young Republicans are hard to find these days.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Lol @ Rand Paul.

I'd respect that a little bit if he'd also wish people who listen to Tucker Carlson and read the gateway pundit also don't vote.  :hrhr:

  I'm not a huge Rand fan. I listened to that particular podcast because Megyn had Jeffrey Tucker on to talk about the FTX crash and went in to it in detail.

He could be totally out in left field with his thinking but the way he framed it made sense. I didn't bother to look in to any of it

I liked his dad, Ron was a man who stood by his convictions. An old school Republican. Not that I agreed with everything he believed in but he was consistent.

Rand fell a long way from that tree. He is perfectly alright with ignorant people voting as long as they vote the right way.  :)

Donald "Commander Bone spurs" Trump should have to present medical evidence of his bone spurs or be shot in the street for treason.

May as well kill em all!

QuoteBill Clinton received educational deferments from 1963 to 1968 so that he could attend Georgetown, and after graduating, accept a Rhodes scholarship to attend Oxford. However, in 1968, when the law that allowed men to receive deferments even for graduate or law school was changed, Clinton received his draft notice. But, to avoid being drafted in 1968, Bill Clinton used his connections to get permission to join the ROTC at the University of Arkansas law school. This permitted him to avoid the draft and allowed him to return to Oxford to complete his master's. Moreover, in 1969 when he was returning from England, President Nixon instituted a draft lottery. When Clinton received a number that would have ensured that he would not be selected, he reneged on the commitment to join the ROTC with no penalty.

After graduating from Yale in 1968, President George W. Bush used his family connections to allow him to enlist in the Texas Air National Guard for a six-year stint as a pilot. He did this because it became clear that President Johnson would not activate the Guard to go to Vietnam but would rely instead on the active forces to fight that bloody conflict. Therefore, it became almost impossible to get into the Guard in 1968, especially for someone like Bush who had a low score (in the 25th percentile) on the pilot test, and also had an arrest record. Moreover, in Bush's last two years, his attendance at Guard meetings dropped off, he lost his pilot certification but, unlike most of these, he was not recalled to active duty.

Biden not only received deferments for his undergraduate days at the University of Delaware, but for three years of law school at Syracuse University. When his education deferments expired in 1968, Biden requested a deferment based on the fact he had asthma as a teenager. He did this in spite of the fact that, according to his own book, he was a star athlete in high school and in college played intramural sports and was a lifeguard in the summer.

Another thought on how electable Trump will be in 2024. If the Dems really though that he was completely unelectable, as all the #NeverTrumpers are wishfully spouting lately, Why would they appoint a special counsel to drag on the smear. Why would they keep pushing for his taxes, etc. They would back off and even convince their rank and file to register R in primaries and vote him. Their actions indicate, just as polling does, that he is their biggest worry for 2024.
