This is the biggest problem I have with our local politicians.  All they do is talk and raise taxes. They keep promising that they'll be able to solve all of these issues if only we were willing to contribute more. Then they do dumb things like hire a crack addicted ex pimp to be the Seattle street czar.  It didn't take a genius to figure out that this turd was going to take full advantage of the 100k plus a year salary and run. 

After 50 years of liberal control in this State, schools haven't gotten any better. Homelessness issues are getting worse. Crime is worse. Business owners who helped get these shit wads elected, go to the Seattle city council to voice their concerns and the council is rude and dismissive of their concerns.

I'm not a fan of what's happening with the Republican party right now, but I can see that, at least locally, the "progressives" don't give a shit about what they preach daily or the people they are supposed to represent.   

I agree with liberals on a lot of issues. I think we are destroying the earth. I think the police are overbearing and abusive. I think the income gap is growing and causes a threat to society. The thing is, they don't propose anything that will actually solve those issues and usually their proposals mean lower income, higher unemployment, higher taxes, less freedom, etc.

It all was once above sea level in the 1800s, then humans started pumping water out of swamps and filling it in to build on. As the ground dried it began to shrink and create air pockets, those pockets started collapsing and making the ground drop. Now over half the city is below sea level and dropping at about 2"/year.

Taylor is a community activist responsible for an initiative making it easier to jail officers for use of force. Since then, establishment Democrats like Durkan have used him for his perceived street cred as they try to get a handle on crime spiraling out of control.

But the street cred comes from Taylor's criminal past. He served time in Las Vegas for his pimping activities, which the Telegraph notes involved an underage girl. At the time, the Las Vegas Sun reported:

Cheryl Davis admitted she had been a prostitute before she met Taylor and detailed how he had coaxed her to live in his house with two other women — a 16-year-old runaway and a veteran hooker who is now facing felony "trick roll" charges. [...]

Davis told of bringing Taylor thousands of dollars from her prostitution activities although she got little in return.

If you read that article, it is very one sided. I usually wouldn't post an article like that except that I know there are a few local news outlets that favored this move and refuse to report negatively on it.  You'd have to bounce from article to article to piece together the whole story. 

This guy was part of the Cities move for equity and equality. They didn't realize who they hired but then refused to admit the mistake.
