Hey G, for reference about how big are the pieces you guys make for those. They look massive.

The vanes we build range from 3ft dia. x 2" tall to 6ft dia by 10"
Most are machined on our pair of Okuma MU1000Hs, the 6 footers are too big for the Okumas and are machined on and old
Cincinatti gantry mill and occasionally on our JOBS gantry mill

The compressor housings range in size from of a small trash can to a small house
My personal best came in as a rough machined casting at 105K pounds and left at 85K pounds.
The REALY big stuff is machined in Austria

heaviest part (10,000lbs) I was ever directly involved with was one of Solar's endcaps, thank to gcode for giving me a shot.

You should still be here, you were doing just fine.
I took a day to go to a Vericut seminar and that's the day you picked to tell them what you really thought

Scott Adams (dilbert) says there should always be a 48 hr rule on twitter for written statements. To explain, moderate or retract.
Now, for middle managers crucify someone in abstentia over an off the cuff statement without benefit of further examination, well lets just say i'm good with the outcome, but still thankful to one soul for the opportunity. And you're too nice. I wasn't doing that good, being pissed off and all. lol

The issue was not with the quality of your work.
I am currently reprogramming some smaller endcaps to run on the new Okuma and I'm using some of your old files
as a template.

The problem you had.. and probably still have, is a complete lack of the ability to tolerate fools

on it's not a bad thing.
I was very angry at what happened to mkd, so angry in fact, that I nearly got to join him in the ranks of the unemployed.

He did good work and what happened was totally uncalled for.

Probably why I've had around 25 jobs in 40+ years. Always tell people my tool box has wheels for a reason.

neurosis

We had a guy who worked here 20+ years ago that every time he would get in to an argument with the boss, he would grab a can of wd-40 and start spraying the wheels of his tool box in the middle of the conversation.

It was hilarious.

The same guy, ever time the boss would hand him something to sign, he would wad it up and pretend like he was wiping his ass with it and throw it at the bosses chest.

These kids today just aren't that creative with their disrespect.   :D

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Crap. Now I'm an old cowboy. Have used that one too. 😁

The other one I use  is...
" Go ahead. Threaten me with a good time."
