Urban Air Assault is one of the most challenging things to train for. To do it "clandestine" like the majority of our SpecOps training is done would be prohibitively expensive. Imagine the cost to build tjust the frame of a DOwntown San Diego... It woudl be in the Trillions of dollars... for just the one training ground. So they train that stuff in places like San Diego, Los Angeles, DC, etc... and it scares the shit out of people. Like the idiots the live next to airports and get scared when a large old freight aircaft come roaring into town. :coffee:

They don't announce it because they don't want to alert the spies that live here amongst of what we're training. Russian, Israeli and Chinese nationals live in areas immediately adjacent to a number of sensitive government properties like Jet Propulsion Laboratory in La Canada-Fintridge California, Oak Harbor Washingtons, Naval Surface Warfare facility in Norco California, Dam Neck Virginia, Coronado California, Camp Pendelton California, etc...

:coffee:

Routine training ops.

Speaking of training
A Turkish journalist released an article listing Ukranian war casualties to date.
She listed 175K troops and 3500 tanks
She also listed 248 US/UK military trainers.
I have no idea if her figures are correct.
I see releases all the time detailing American and UK civilian volunteers killed in action in Ukraine.
You'd think if active duty troops were being killed in Ukraine, we'd know about it by now.

Unless the nature of the active duty casualties' deaths were attributed to "training" and not being half a world away from where we belong. Our government would NEVER lie about such things.

our government lies like a rug... but you'd think a grieving window or family member would have gone public by now.
Unless family members have been threatened with loss of death benefits if someone talks to the press.
Of course, the article I read could have been Russian propaganda straight out on the Kremlin.
We just don't know, and really have no way of knowing what is true and what is not.

My guess is those civilian volunteers are actually off the books private military contractors. Their contracts probably specify non-disclosure and penalties if violated.

that would make sense for training personnel.
