Brian, rather than suggest a dollar amount I'd just say that people need to make a living wage.

This is the problem I think many people have. A living wage is a really ambiguous statement. What does that include? Rent,food and utilities? Cell phones and cell phone plans? Internet? A new car vs  a used car? Large flat screen TV? Vacations? I mean everyone deserves a vacation. Where do you draw the line on what is a living wage? I see a lot of people looking at what others have and say I want that. But they are not willing to do the work. Are you going to force companies to only be able to make a certain profit like Obama did with health insurance companies? Are you going to pass laws that limit what a private company can pay a CEO? Are these the first steps to socialism? These laws will come from an entity, US government, which has zero credibility to tell anyone how to run a company. They can't even get their own house in order.

You can't just say $15 an hour either.

The reality is the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. You do understand wealth disparity right? It's a world wide problem, especially in second and third world countries. It's higher in this country than most other first world countries. The people (including corporations) buy the politicians who make the laws.

How much, percentage wise, has CEO pay gone up in the last 3 or 4 decades. Just an example.

We (the middle class) are paying more in taxes now because the tax cuts we were given have expired. The corporations are still enjoying those tax cuts.

Talking about it is all academic anyway. Nothing's going to change. Or government has been bought by the corporations and the citizens are fighting about immigrants and LGBTQ rights.

Tax rates are lower and continue to lower as the Trump tax law has not expired. Taxes on retirement funds will never be lower than they are today

And also Corporate charitable gifts rose 8% from 2019-2021.

Everything is not black and white and
And often  unfairly criticized without knowing the whole picture.

In other words, it ain't all bad.
