Unfortunately, people like John Fetterman and Joe Biden are great examples of how tribal we have become.

R's and D's will always be ideologically opposed on many issues.
That's fine, because we are all different people.
It used to be that differences could be discussed and debated, and middle ground could be reached, but sadly those days are gone.

Now politics has become SO tribal, on both sides, that people will now vote for someone who has OBVIOUS mental decline, and / or SERIOUS medical issues that WILL affect their job performance, but since they are on OUR team, and not the OTHER team, we are OK with that.

Our political leaders SHOULD be our best and brightest people from both parties, but sadly we have degraded to 'at least he or she is not ___________________.'

I wish John Fetterman no ill will personally, but I DO NOT want him as MY US Senator.
Not only because of our political differences, but for the fact that everyone KNEW his physical health was questionable for someone being elected to such a high-stress position, and sure enough here we are with him having health issues already, only one month into his term.

When you see and read about a Senator wanting a divorce of America based on party, and a mayor and governor trading shots on who has it right, and also a network show attacking a Presidential candidate over whether 51 is over the hill with back and forth barbs I have to believe any reconciliation between ideology is over and caput. I believe this nation is dying. And these things are just the tip of the iceberg.

In my day to day life, republicans and democrats work together and get along fine. I see in both republican friends and democrats friends, traits that I like and dislike. Things I admire and things I reject. It's only because they people we vote for and the people in the media who have an agenda to divide us that is the problem, as far as I see it. jm2c

Personally I only see real people engage the culture wars on social media. Yes, this forum is social media.

The few times politics comes up where I work I pretty much ignore it.
