Insulin resistance and inflammation are contributors of hardening arteries and plaque buildup. Not a high fat diet. change my mind.

Triglycerides are a measure of fat in the blood, which can contribute to cardio vascular disease. When I was drinking heavily my triglycerides were measuring in the 700-900 range. Normal is < 150. Two years after giving up the booze my triglycerides are at 152 as of my last physical.

It's against my better judgement but I link the CDC

Losarten (or losarten potassium ... same drug) blocks chemicals that make your blood vessels constrict (I think, no expert). My potassium levels were borderline high, so my doc cut the dose in half and the following month normal again. It tells you to limit potassium rich foods, mainly bananas. Meats, some greens like broccoli have a lot of potassium, too. You're not supposed to eat massive amounts, not saying cut out bananas. Just don't eat them like a gorilla does.  :P

My potassium levels are super low and is probably a factor in my high blood pressure.

It was a lot more fun when i could just eat what ever in the hell I wanted.   :D
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Well, losarten would be a good drug for you. A strong enough dose should raise potassium levels while also lowering blood pressure. (disclaimer: what do I know? not much, ask a DOCTOR lol)

Broccoli, spinach, bananas, meats (all high in potassium)

Yes, getting old sucks. I hear you (good luck, get that bp down...)

You are Teetering right on the edge of Gay.

I would suggest plain brown packaging and closing the Drapes.  :)

Do you care to share how much "drinking heavily" is?

I was just curious. That's a pretty high triglyceride number.

Probably a pint a day plus a few beers after work. It varied quite bit. It was heavily for me.

I'm sure genetics played a part.
