Quote from: neurosis on April 05, 2023, 08:09 AMMy point is that racism is something that is evil where people who support child transitioning, agree with it or not, don't have nefarious intent.

I don't support it myself, but I'm also able to admit that I don't know enough about it to give educated opinions on it. I do know that I don't have outside influences guiding my opinions on it ( faith, religion, what ever )

I also think that there are a lot of people blindly supporting it without knowing what the hell they are talking about.  But again, I don't believe that there is anything nefarious there. Just ignorance.

As a reference, think of the scene in Saving Silverman when Amanda Peets character convinces Jack Blacks that he is gay. Is it because he is really gay, or did she use her superior intellect to convince him.

There are those on the left that the LGBT*** movement is a religion. They feel it is their responsibility no different than a Christian educator trying to lead kids to their religion.

you would not have to be religious in nature to find this video from Robert Barron interesting. he digs in to the different philosophies with greater depth in later videos.

Quote from: beej on April 05, 2023, 08:46 AMyes, you do. You just haven't thought about it enough to know what your outside influences are yet. I don't mean that to be as condescending as it sounds, It has only been in the last few years that I have been diving into this on my own to see if I actually believe what I think I believe.

the influences come from philosphers, whose ideas have been taught in universities, that have influenced modern thinking, that has influenced, media, professors, teachers, politicians and now permeated society. The ideas are a religion in and of itself.

I've spent a lot of time listening to a poscast hosted by a local gay activist and an investigative journalist. I'm sure they have influenced my opinions on this more than anyone and their opinion on the subject is that there isn't enough data and that *most* people who talk about it don't know what they are talking about. They are the only two that I've listened to that don't push some kind of agenda and are willing to admit when they got something wrong. Both of them by the way, are *very* apprehensive about children transitioning and neither support puberty blockers.

That is one of my favorite movies.

Convicted pedophiles have been using that tactic since forever because it works.

If you don't see the possibility of nefarious intent there, I can't help you.

So what is the end game here?  To turn everyone in the country gay? And why do people constantly compare trans people with pedophiles? What percentage of pedophiles are trans?  More importantly, what percentage of trans people are pedophiles?  Isn't pedophilia more common with straight males?

it's almost impossible to find that number because algorithms suppress almost anything that is offensive to the people who write them. 40 percent of imprisoned transgender women are sex offenders, but I really don't think that is a fair statistic because of the simple fact that it is based only on people who are in prison.

Because that idea worked SO well in our grade schools, Jr. High Schools, High Schools, and Colleges and Universities. Where there is nary a conservative voice to be heard today. We ignored the leftists and commies in the 50's and 60's because "...hey, if we ignore it it will go away. Surely the American People aren't stupid enough to fall for that shit."

Hold my Budweiser and watch the destruction unfold.

Here we are 3 generations into "... it will go away..."  and the debauchery is undeniable.

how I see it in the West:
Just like in Christianity there is Catholicism and Protestantism

in Atheism there are 2 major denominations:
Scientism: the idea that Science alone can answer all the questions. and Humanity (the whole of humanity) is basically the God.

Selfism: the idea that I have my own truth, and the Self is the God.

there are conservatives and liberals in all 4 of these groups.

My daughter-in-law's sister (Gracey) is dating a woman. Her significant other wants to transition into a man, but that upsets Gracey because she's afraid people will think she's heterosexual.

I'm still wrapping my mind around that, but it tells me that there is more than "born this way" going on.

Quote"The problem is that the ridicule seems to reside elsewhere: modern psychiatry and psychology have not been able to keep up-to-date with new post-human perceptions, which have been unable to admit the problems of distinguishing between a phenomenological symptom and a voluntary behaviour, and furthermore which have chosen to pathologize and ruin the lives of many through the insistence on an obsolete paradigm, while the same people could have found a supporting community off- and online."

Homo sapiens has existed for a mere 200,000 years or so; the earliest land creatures crawled out of around 400 millennia ago. In the tree of life we share our inheritance with creatures as diverse as amoebas, flatworms, insects, fish and birds.  In 1997 Pat Califia, the well-known queer author of erotic essays, wrote: "I'm never sure if I have gender dysphoria or species dysphoria. I often try to explain that I'm really a starfish trapped in a human body and I'm very new to your planet."

The narratives of those who share the rejection of their full humanity and an entangled sympathy with other beings have taken a new critical role in the last half century. They pose a simple, uncomfortable question: what does it mean to be human? Feijó proposes: "Following the struggles of those who have seen themselves excluded from mankind, it might be time to ask if the diagnosis didn't have the wrong focus all along: in the 20th century. Perhaps it could be said that humanity itself is a case of species dysphoria?"

I never thought this stuff was real, but I met a girl who works at the St Louis aquarium, that identifies as a fox. She said that initially she thought she was a coyote but she figured out that she was mistaken. Once they get their constitutional rights, I'm pretty sure I won't be able to hunt or fish again.

I didn't say anything about gay or straight.
My comment was that introducing young children to gender / sexuality concepts is a grooming behavior used by pedophiles.
THEIR end game is obviously molesting children.
