3d models for 6 and 8in vise stops and table stops?

Does anyone happen to have any 3d models for vise and table stops?

I found some on grabcad but they are all either newer solidworks files or fusion files. We haven't used solidworks in 10 years and fusion, well, enough said.  :D

If I can't find these I can model them up easy enough. Just trying to save the hassle.

Hi neuro:

Using the current release of SWX here, so send them this direction and I can export them to some useful format for you. I don't think I can deal with F360 files.

I'll see if I can figure out how to PM you my contact info....

Cheers, Brian

HAAS Has them in their tooling section

Kurt has models of all their products and you can pick your favorite flavor when you download

I thought the same thing so I took a quick peak. Unless I'm missing something, it looks like they only have models of their vices?

Kurt has models of most of their vises, but not their work stops that I can find.

I'll see if I can find something on HAAS. Unless you have to be a customer?

If I strike out I'll send you a message @Brian.  There is a model on grabcad of a 6in vise with a vise stop. It's not perfect but it would work.

Here's Johnny!

Here is a link to a simple Kurt vise with a stop on the jaw.

Is this for use in Mastercam? So I'm guessing you can't have any jaw mechanism?
CNC Softwares own 'lil piece of Poison Ivy.
TopSolid for the Win :)

I'll be using it for visual aids in setup sheets.

Right now I'm just using a PDF editor and drawing filled in rectangles to represent the vise stops.   :D

I ended up just modeling a couple up in topsolid.  It didn't take long.

I did the same. As you are using them for, great aids in setup sheets.

Added bonus of having the jaw mechanism, so I can close the jaw on the workpiece :)

Looks good!

Are you using TS for CAD, and then doing all of your programming in MasterCam?

Yea. It would be nice if you could do that easily in Mastercam.   :D

Yea. I'm still doing all of my tooling/fixture design and part modeling in TopSolid.

I have a feeling that at some point we are either going to have to pick SolidWorks back up or update TopSolid.  I like TopSolid a lot better but SolidWorks has a much higher level of support due to its popularity.

Do you really need any support if you're just using TS for design? You guys weren't thinking of using it for CAM again, right?

Yeah, I get the whole "popularity" thing- I doubt I could hire somebody who already knows TS (or perhaps even heard of it)!

I keep my SWX license current only because the vast majority of our customers use it, and occasionally we need to modify their stuff and return native files. A few of them also like to be able to send a whole pile of native data and say "make this and give us a bill", so it makes sense in a way, but everything else happens in TS. I greatly prefer it.

They only thing we would need "support" for is keeping the translators up to date.

We don't plan on going back to it for CAM.  I wouldn't mind it (I would prefer it) but it just doesn't make sense financially. If they offered the same types of posts that come standard with mastercam for free again I could probably make a case for it but we know where that discussions goes.  :D
