I don't know if it's going back to free but I'm hoping so.

I'm certainly not going to pay for it.  Especially for what they're asking.

I might think differently if I needed to take more advantage of their tool assemblies.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

I'm Hoping MSC will take care of the costs but yes, I'm not paying either.

Yep, screw that. If it's free I'll take a good look at it, if not then...

They'll just charge more.... ;D
Who actually buys from MSC?
The only time I use MSC is to find an item.
(They do have one of the best search engines)
99% of the time I can find it cheaper elsewhere.

We buy enough that our pricing through them is competitive with the others....

We also get nice discounts from them and they're usually here between 9:55 and 10:05 am.

We get pretty good discounts through MSC as well but we have to keep on them.

The rep we used to deal with left so I'm not sure that we're going to be able to continue getting the discounts. We just don't buy enough through them.

Volume does get you a long ways with MSC. Dunno what the cutoff is to get good pricing - But like Neurosis said, you gotta stay on top of them. If you can find a tool elsewhere for less, they will always do a quote and wind up beating whoever else's price. Best thing about them is the free next day shipping if they have it in stock. That represents a huge savings.

Machining Cloud was trying to be a distributor. I know MSC was wanting to do things with their website to include models and recommenced speed & feeds. A partnership solves both things....

We buy a lot from them. Most of the time it's stuff that we know we'll have the next day.
$50 miniumum for free shipping and we buy enough to where we get a decent discount from their list pricing.
Now we don't buy tool holders, inserts and anything like that from them, but we'll buy micrometers, calipers, the occasional tap,hss drills, a lot of piddly shit.
MSC distributes OSG and Guhring so we use them for those brands, and we have a Sandvik rep for an even better discount. I think we get 35% off Sandvik list prices for their stuff.

Side note, if you guys haven't tried the Dura Mill end mills from Sandvik you should. They are one of the best variable helix end mills I've used.
