It seems to me that after Reagan things went downhill fast.

If you study some of the early elections and back room deals you will find it's always been going downhill. Only difference is that they didn't hang around for 40 yrs in office!

Look up how reconstruction ended suddenly in that election. That's just one.

Hubert Humphrey was nominated without winning a primary.

It was only 4 short years after Reagan that we had the serial sexual predator and cocaine running co-conspirator with the CIA in the White House.

Trump is probable the only President in our lifetimes that actually lost wealth holding office. That's another reason they hate him so much, Trump of all people makes the rest of them look REALLY bad. And THAT'S GOTTA hurt.

but he hasn't exactly covered himself in glory either...

They say if you like eating hotdogs, don't ever go to a plant to watch them made, politics is the same.

Politics has always been backroom dealing, let's face it, that's how compromise is reached.

As I see it, the problem has become politicians making deals to enrich themselves under the guise of helping "we the people." As a country that is some 247 years old, many of the necessary laws we're placed into force within the first 25-30 years....

What we have now are a bunch of criminals and hacks in office making laws that one, are not good law, two trying to make it look like they are needed and doing something important and three serving themselves to get re-elected. Make no mistake it's all of them up there, every one of them, regardless of party.

The wheels of government were designed to act slowly, now we get thousand page bills that no one but a handful of people have either read or know what's really in it, being passed. This is NOT the way it's supposed to be.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Trump walks on water. Not by a Longshot. That said, name another President this century or last that was worth less on the day he left office than the day he entered office... AND was/is willing to do it again. $700,000,000 less roughly.

MAYBE Truman??? He was poor to begin with and left poor.

To me, that's worth something.

Compromise is crucial in governance. However, in this day and age withe the shitbirds we have to choose from I'll take gridlock all day long. Gridlock means they're not taking more of our rights away.

Not for his lack of trying, he definitely tried - so far been the worst at business while a president

Would you say better or worse than the hundreds of billions the Biden family received from foreign entities for special treatment/favor with Biden?

One of our local dumass politicians said that. He was in a meeting with some other crooks and they were trying to come up with a strategy to frame a local videographer for a scheme where they paid women to say that the opposition mayoral candidate had a history of abusing women. They were trying to save the incumbent who was about to get voted out of office. He made to one to many deals to award his buddies lucrative contracts and made no effort to hide it. The videographer was at the meeting and recorded it.

The idiot who said it is now facing prison. He made a bunch of false claims for federal pandemic relief. Of course, the guy they tried to smear, the current mayor, just got in trouble. There was a cleanup effort for a certain neighborhood and the city had a dump site to bring all your trash. He tried to cut in front of everyone in line and when the cop monitoring the effort called him out on it, the mayor called the city manager and complained that one of his officers was yelling at him. All while smoking a fat cigar. It was a perfect caricature of a crooked politician.

I figure that carries all the way up the line. No politician worth having wants any part of it.

Note; the Sol Alinsky rules for radical playbook says to accuse your opponents of what you are guilty of. There will be a massive effort from the media/dems/special counsel/etc. to try to make it look like Trump or family profited from his position as president to cover for the Biden crime family extensive racketeering organization. Expect all kinds of articles listing no actual facts but claiming so. Adam Schiff is going to claim he has evidence, etc. The same tired old BS that only ignorant Dems fall for. The rest are immoral POS that don't care if their leaders lie, cheat, etc. As long as they win.
