The voters in Cali are responsible for the price of eggs in Cali.
Several years ago they approved a proposition that mandated that only cage free eggs could be sold in CA.
That law kicked in with the New Year...and eggs have become much more expensive as a result.

not surprisingly, there is a huge market for eggs smuggled in from out of state that were not produced in a cage free
environment

That!!! and Pic-a-Nic egg tosses are monitored as a non-free range broken egg could cause catastrophic results.

I was drinking a bloody mary a few months back in a bar in Seattle. They only use paper straws in Seattle. About three drinks in the straw had already turned to mush.  It would collapse when you tried to take a drink. Particles floating in the drink.  It was just nasty.

Youtube put a policy in place after the 2020 election that stated no false claims about election fraud, glitches, and errors. They have recently rolled back that decision. Sounds like they are getting ready for 2024.
