As a side note, I don't know how much of a 'war' it will be when China decides to retake Taiwan.

They will likely bomb the crap out of every strategic target on the island with cruise missiles launched from the mainland, pound the crap out of Taipei with offshore naval artillery, then land troops on the northern end of the island.

Once they secure the city of Taipei, and the international airport, it's game over.
