Play stupid games.

Street racing has been a problem in this area for a few years now.  Groups of dipshit kids block entire freeways in the middle of the night to race forcing traffic to back up for miles. This time they blocked downtown Tacoma.

QuoteNext, a Tacoma police car approached the area from Pacific and South 11th Street. Mark said the police unit took back streets and then came into the scene on South 9th Street from the east. Mark heard a siren but not any voices from the car's bullhorn.

"A lot of people swarmed in that direction (of the police car)," Mark said. "They were intending to block him."

The officer backed up about three feet and then suddenly accelerated forward, striking several people and knocking four to five of them to the ground. It appears the vehicle then drives over something, or somebody. Another video from the same scene and posted to Twitter appears shows the vehicle driving over a person on the ground.

I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

Not a chief I would like to work under.

QuoteThe statement concluded with a quote from interim Police Chief Mike Ake:

"I am concerned that our department is experiencing another use of deadly force incident," the statement reads. "I send my thoughts to anyone who was injured in tonight's event, and am committed to our Department's full cooperation in the independent investigation and to assess the actions of the department's response during the incident."

Looks like he has already thrown his men under the bus so to speak.

Matthew Hajicek

Who here believes this was a justified use of force?

I'm not Law Enforcement so my opinion probably doesn't count.

If a large group of people surround my car and leave me with no way out, and then start banging on my windows and kicking the side of my car (there are footprints all over the side of the cruiser) I'm going to stomp on it and get the F out of there. If you get run over it kinda seems like that's more your fault than mine.

Looks to me that there was no one behind him, he had a clear avenue of escape without using potentially lethal force.  Even deciding to only go forwards, he could have gone slowly; his windows were intact.  His case will hinge on him believing there was no other option but to run straight through the mass of people with the pedal down.  He'll probably have to say he thought someone in the crowd had a gun.

Like most of these situations, both sides did stupid things.

The video doesn't show the angle of the guns pointed at the driver. Or were those fireworks?
Or pipe bombs?
All of which have been used by these violent insurrectionists.
Poor little Anthony shouldn't have dove under the cruiser.
