Since about half of our shop are apparently alcoholics :lol:  the shop owner decided to have us work tomorrow and take Wednesday off. 

I think he might be on to something. 

Works for me. No traffic tomorrow.

We don't get many of the more obscure .gov Monday holidays.
Those days are banked and used elsewhere.
One of those was today, giving us a four day 4th of July weekend.

Even if I were going into the office at this point, we had Monday & Tuesday off this year.

I had to work Monday and Tuesday, get Wednesday off, and go back Thursday. 

Next year I'll get Thursday and Friday off.
I'll go back to being a conservative, when conservatives go back to being conservative.

The company I work with has a floating holiday they move around to get a long weekend once a year. This year it was the third of July so a 4 day weekend it was. :)

We always get two days off with the exception of July fourth is on a Wednesday. About half of our shop is off for the week.

Here too
We got Monday and Tuesday off paid and about 60% of the shop took PTO for the rest of the week.
I'm here alone running on 2 hours sleep because of all the assholes shooting off fireworks till 1AM.

Sunday and Monday nights I got about 3 hours of sleep each night.  I ended up falling asleep at 7pm last night. No fireworks for me.

I live on four hours sleep but here the fireworks shut down I think at 9:30ish. Our cops will go around and tell the out of towners (FIPs) to shut down early so the working people can get some sleep. If needed they will go around on Sunday nights also during the summer.
