I thought this would happen just because the pillows suck.

I guess I'm not surprised that some retailers dropped his product.

QuoteA large amount of surplus industrial equipment from the company MyPillow is now up for auction online, including from the company's Minnesota factory.

The items are being auctioned off using K-BID Online Auctions and items include dock trucks, sewing machines, forklifts, boxes and more, according to the listing page. 824 items will be auctioned off and the event ends on July 18 at 7 p.m.

Mike Lindell, the MyPillow Chief Executive Officer, told Minnesota television station WCCO that the auction is a surplus auction that "is a reflection of the change from big box and mall store sales to a direct-to-consumer approach." Lindell said MyPillow in-store sales were canceled by retailers such as Walmart and Bed, Bath & Beyond.

It's actually extra stuff remaining from the building they moved out of a few years ago. But yeah, let's say they are auctioning everything off.

QuoteOn Monday, Lindell went live on Facebook where he talked about the auction, saying it comes after retailers "abandoned" MyPillow.

"What are we supposed to do, everybody? Just paperweights there? No, we are auctioning it off," Lindell said during the live stream. "Before they did this to MyPillow, we were so big that we needed like four times of the equipment we had right now to make retail packaging, to make the retail pillows. So my guys said, 'Hey, can we get rid of some of this stuff, and sublease part of that building?' Which we said, 'Fine.'"

Not quite what he said, but ok?

I thought Bed, Bath & Beyond was already out of business.

I'd believe that me may have over-estimated future sales? It sounds more like he got caught up in politics and the culture war (just like Disney) and is suffering the same kind of backlash.

But again, his pillows suck anyway so.  :D

I don't think it's ever a good idea when the owner is the face of the company because he gets on my last nerve.

They did.  Probably not before dropping My Pillow.  There are something like 20 other stores that dropped them as well.

This probably has something to do with all of the lawsuits he's fighting too?

Well that's what I was told by a person I know who works there when I noticed the auction a couple weeks ago.

Lindell was and remains a proud and vocal election denier.
He had the balls to say what tens of millions believe and are afraid to say publicly.
He and his employees are paying the price for this as virtually every retailer in the country
has dropped My Pillow.
They were advertising heavily on Fox News but Fox is in the dumps too.
Fox News recently settled a huge slander lawsuit with Dominion, the voting machine builder.
They fired Tucker Carlson and are purging their lineup of anyone even remotely pro Trump.
As a result Fox's ratings are in the tank.
I don't know if My Pillow is still advertising on Fox.
I quit watching Fox on election night 2020 when they called AZ for Biden 5 minutes after the polls closed.

There was something very wrong with that call as it took 2 months and a couple of recounts to settle AZ
In the end Biden won by a very slim and still contested margin....which makes Fox's election night call
look even more hinky.

I feel bad for My Pilllow's employees as they are the innocent victims is all this.

The moral of the story is, that if your are going to challenge the Left, the MSM and the Deep State
you'd best have your shit wired causse they fight dirty and play to win.

Hmmm...I'm thinking about Colonel Sanders, Dana Brown, Orville Redenbaker. Maybe those days were just better.

If that's true, he either lied to his employees, or he's lying to his customers?

I could see him playing the 'feel sorry for me and buy my pillows' card so it wouldn't surprise me. A couple of the articles I've read say that he's lost 100 million dollars? Also something about having to borrow money to fight his current lawsuits?

I've read in to it about as much as I'm going to.

He should have just sold his pillows and kept his trap shut.

Oh shut up. Your response is devastating to my point.

There must be some calculated payback from taking political stances or you wouldn't see so many companies do it. It happens on both sides of the isle. I know conservatives that buy shit they don't need or even want because the company puts out pro-right messages. The same goes for church/Christian stuff. I guess it is probably an easy way to gain market share if you are a small player in a big market. Take political/religious stance and get an instant rabid loyal customer base.

Disney, Bud Lite and Ben and Jerry's are learning that lesson these days as well
