I've been exploring this fascinating topic and learned quite a bit in the process.

I knew of this term "punctuated equilibrium" and the Cambrian layer (paradox?). Fully developed sea creatures in the Cambrian layer whereas right below it in the Pre-Cambrian layer there were only "simple" organisms. It's as if life just exploded into existence. And (different topic) biology now knows these simple organisms (single cell organisms, bacteria, viruses) are extraordinarily complex. Mind boggling complexity.

I learned it isn't just isolated to the Cambrian layer. Throughout the entire geologic fossil record there were explosion events. Complex life forms seemingly appearing overnight (a few million or so years, not enough time to evolve - hence the birth of the punctuated equilibrium theory).

I'll paste the Wikipedia explanation of this theory. Then I'll show some videos. One is from Gunter Blechly, an expert who has an almost photographic memory (it would seem) as he can rattle off terms by memory. A shorter video and then I'll show a longer video. Then I'll show a video of this topic by Richard Sternberg.

Gunter Blechly was a hardened atheist who is now a Christian. He obtained all his knowledge on this topic prior to his conversion. Richard Sternberg is not a Christian. He is an evolutionist. But what was funny is towards the end of his interview he says "we cannot rule out intelligent design" then he rolls his eyes. It was very funny!

And a longer version below...

The feed on the Blechly longer video isn't all that great. I hadn't viewed it prior.

I know the shorter video and Sternberg video have good feeds..

I laugh because some declare it so simple.

love the Jodie foster movie. Contact. :)

Without using My Father as a punching Bag.

We were fishing in the Middle of Lake Mead, Nevada.

And I looked at him and said "It's hard to believe this was all underwater"

and He said "It's a Man made Lake Doombass"

And I just held my mouth.

ever heard of David Burlinski? a secular jew and agnostic. academically he is a mathematician. He has some thoughts on this. He says that mathematically Darwinian evolution doesn't make sense and the philosophy should be scrapped. He's also not a fan of the new atheists.

It's possible, indeed likely that sapiens evolved from erectus. the mathematical problem is in the cambrian era. a 50miilion year period where we went from single cell organisms to many different complicated species in such a rapid time as to defy current mathematical formulas. Although, who knows, more information may come along and provide clarity some day.

It takes more faith to believe in the Darwinian evolution explanation than an intelligent design explanation. WAY more faith. Like tornado tears through a junkyard and assembles a fully operational Boeing 747 kind of faith.

The sheep following the sheep.

Lawrence Krauss book "A universe from nothing". He's a highly respected theoretical physicist and cosmologist. He "explains" how our universe came from nothing.

^ And his sheep follow their shepherd.

(I'll follow the Good Shepherd...)

I think there must be some misconception of what Darwinism is.

My Reader's Digest version understanding of Darwinism is; Darwin defined evolution as "descent with modification," the idea that species change over time, give rise to new species, and share a common ancestor.

Am I minunderstanding his overall theory?
