Somehow, I doubt it.

Time will tell I guess.

I still think about Dave often, hopefully his family is set financially from this deal.

That is certainly a positive takeaway, no doubt.

It's a wonder that nobody has bought them out yet. Either they're not selling or they want an insane amount of money.

Here's Johnny!

You have to wonder if they buy CamInstructor as well, they share the same building as Postability.

Can't say I'm happy about it, but it was only a matter of time  :-\

I am really hoping Mastercam will be able to get Moduleworks to support additive simulation witt CNC software acquiring Postability.

There is an additive simulation for MW the demo I saw was very slow however,
if you have APLUS for Mastercam we have our own additive simulation bundled with our software at no additional cost!!

It might turn out to be a positive thing,
I was worried when Sandvik bought CNC Software, but there hasn't been any major changes as far as i can see

You can see a demo from the latest release here of the simulation for APLUS,
we are adding more features with each release with plans for collision detection and much more,

I wrote that one from scratch in C++ using my own OPENGL API

The new realtime bead simulation is very nice, looking forward to the 2024 realease! But the game changer will be bead simulation inside of machine sim. The part I am working on now for a customer has over 20 additive operations all with different stock to leave amounts to ensure that bead overlap is maintained as much as possible throughout a constantly changing cross section. Having the ability to collision check back to the deposited material as well as a real time stock update during machine simulation will be the ticket. Creating models to represent deposition is extremely time consuming for machining stock when getting in to complex parts.

I too have seen the bead simulation from Moduleworks, not in a Mastercam environment however. It seems like such an easy fix and/or additional cost to the user for Moduleworks to offer it to Mastercam users. Mastercam/Aplus is the absolute best solution we have seen for Hybrid applications.
