Just wondering what you guys (mostly Neurosis since he's footing the bill right now) think about the culture here at fleeMastercam.com.

For example the post below. I'm a blue collar guy so I've no problem with primitive people using coarse language. It's pretty well known that I sometimes reply in kind when I get tired of ignoring it.

But what do you think about it? Is it alright? Is it not alright? Should it be confined to the outhouse area?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I think it's funny that some people have such a tenuous grasp of reality that when they get called out for posting lies, their only response is to say "prove it!"   Shouldn't the burden of proof be on the person who makes the original statement?

I think that thread is an example of something that went too far. There's an undefined line somewhere and that thread went beyond it.

My thoughts for what they are worth.

I'm all for free speech so I would like to see flaming kept to the outhouse and within reason. It's not a good look if the culture is driving people away.

I like heated discussions but when they turn into flame wars they don't accomplish much.

You are fresh eyes so I do want to hear your opinion.

I know you're new to all the people here but there is a lot of history going back a really long way.

I'd agree that thread went too far. But I disagree it was a discussion. We were just calling each other names, nothing was going to be accomplished at all. :ice:

Nice summary. We've had our battles for years. Family members have fights sometimes. We're one big happy family. OK, I exaggerate.

The really heated battles should be moved to the Outhouse and left alone. Let the combatants duke it out. We've been doing it for YEARS.

Maybe we should create a sub-forum in the outhouse to move the battles in to.

That way people can go in if they want to enjoy the drama or let it go.  There won't be as many eyes in a sub forum so the fights will probably peter (sorry Peter) out faster.
