A buddy of mine is running the marine corp marathon in DC in a few weeks. Me, him and his dad are going to spend an extended weekend down there.

This will be my first time to DC, any recommendations on what's cool to see? The Air and Space Museum and the CIA Spy Museum are the only two things on my list so far.

We've been there twice. Both times we saw the Smithsonian Natural history museum and the Holocaust museum. Both of them are "must-sees" for me.

+1 for Air and Space Museum, Udvar-Hazy museum, and Arlingto National Cemetery. I'd also add the National Archives.... to see the fringiest of fringe documents; The Declaration of Independence penned by insurrectionists and the US Constitution.

I personally like to go to the Library of Congress when I'm there. If Congress is in session, you have to get tickets in advance (call your Congressional Representative, they'll often see you while you're there).

It would be an interesting experiment to see if it's a easy as the news says for visitors to bring cocaine in to the Whitehouse. I'm sure some fellers works chip in for the expenses of the study.

Not sure I can fit this all into one trip.

The war monuments and the Holocaust Museum get under my skin pretty bad. I want to go but I feel like I'll leave with extreme depression.

The war monuments left me feeling nothing but patriotism for our country.

the holocaust museum, though. When I was standing in line, I noticed a lot of people waiting, kids were cutting up telling jokes, adults as well. Nothing crazy it was just normal joyful behavior. But then I noticed the people coming out, and I pointed that out to my wife. I said, "Look a the difference between the people who haven't seen it and the people who have."

But I'll tell you why it's worth it. It teaches you what hate can do. It teaches you what normal everyday citizens are capable of. I made a commitment to treat people with respect.

Yeah. Everyone should see it. Once.

If you go back for seconds, you need your head checked.
