It seems to me that the message "come here for free money" is a lot more alluring?

It's not about them taking our jobs. It's about the fact that 6million people have entered the country since 2020. Which is the same population as the state of Missouri. And more continue to come. I have no problem expanding legal immigration if it helps our country and\or helps people of need. But the border has GOT to get secured at some point. this is ridiculous and shows no signs of stopping.

The people that are coming here are not lazy. Quite the opposite! And my guess is that none of them are going to call relatives and say, "Come on up, we get to stay in homeless shelters along with 500-1000 other strangers." They are hoping to get released out onto the streets so that they can rely on their own abilities to make money.

It's possible for me to be impressed with their tenacity and also know that we can't keep doing what we are doing.

Exactly. So why not tax them and let them contribute since they're already here anyway. Better that they work under the table cleaning someone's house?

The country is having a massive labor shortage right now and I'm guessing these guys aren't going to complain about a living wage.

because if you do that for them then we will have 12 million more attempting to get what they got. How hard is that to understand?

There was a prisoner who found out a way to smuggle drugs into a local prison here. From the inside, he committed an offense. He was charged for it. and while he was at the courthouse, got drugs from his girlfriend, and managed to get them back inside the prison.

the next month there were 30 prisoners in the court room who had committed crimes from the inside in order to get into that courtroom. and the next month there were even more before local law enforcement could figure out what was going on.

It's the same principal going on at the border. That prisoner went back and told how he did what he did and it ballooned. the judge ordered all future prisoners to by charged by telecommunications rather than by appearing in the court and now it has stopped.

our children are literally told in commie-school that the best thing they can do for the planet is to commit suicide while those in power of the same political affiliation doles-out your money to bring in the world's poor.
Amazing the cowardice of the average Joe that lets this goes unchallenged. There's more of us.....

We do not have a labor shortage. What we have are a shortqage of people willing to work. Either by government intervention or by theft of other people's stuff/businesses stuff/panhandling, a great many people have removed themselves from the labor pool.

I know several families that went from two person incomes, to a parent staying home with the kids because child care became too expensive.  We have two people at work who's wives left the work force and they can't afford to go back. They're basically working for free.

The largest issue with the open border is the human trafficking, criminals and drugs.
If every person crossing was a worker bee, you'd probably hear very little chatter from either party about them.

Child care has ALWAYS been too expensive. If the plandemic did one thing it created the opportunity for people to assess their situation and make decisions based on that situation. They were always working for free, they just didn't take to time to do the math.

My wife and I did the math before we got married as a pre-marital counseling exercise and with just one kid, and her earning power at the time, factor in ALL the costs associated with working outside the home it didn't pencil out. Add 3 more and the money we save by her being home was beyond absurd.

Families today just assume they cannot afford to allow a spouse to stay home to rise the children, 1) because they have been conditioned to believe that and 2) never done ALL the math.

Yup. Two kids in preschool for me is $2500/month. I'd likely be a stay at home dad if my own business weren't growing and profitable enough. Thankfully my wife makes significantly more than I ever have.
